The market is the dungeon, and it's never the same twice. Choose a ticker each morning, then survive ten trading days: ride momentum, abuse leverage up to 10x, outtrade bosses like FOMC Day and the Flash Crash, and draft tools between bells. Print the God Candle — or get liquidated.

About This Game

Read the tape. Ride the wave. Die by leverage.

GOD CANDLE is a real-time trading roguelite. You get a $1,000,000 book and ten trading days to retire. Each day is a 45-second sprint through market hours — go long, go short, lever up, and clear the closing-bell target, or the margin clerk shuts the desk down.

NEW: Make the market

Market Maker is a new alternate mode. Stop betting on direction — become the liquidity.
  • Quote both sides of the tape, capture the spread, and manage the inventory every fill leaves on your book.
  • Tighten for flow, widen for chaos, lean your quotes to work back to flat, and flatten before toxic flow runs you over.
  • Five escalating ~40-second sessions per run — from a calm opening book to a full liquidity crisis — with nine desk upgrades to build between bells.

Every run is a different market

  • Choose your ticker each morning from a shortlist with volatility and behavior readouts — ten of them, from sleepy $GLD to pure-chaos $GME.
  • Nine market-event bosses: Earnings Day, FOMC, Squeeze Watch, Flash Crash, Melt-Up, Quad Witching, Circuit Breaker, OPEX Pin, and The Bear.
  • Ten daily market conditions on top — Volatility Storm, Algo Chop, Data Blackout, Gamma Ramp, Zero Commission Day, and more.
  • Special sessions change the job itself: stay inside the risk committee's drawdown limit, bank both sides of a whipsaw, make three bullets count, or trade the closing auction.
  • Shuffled boss order, jittered targets, rerolled tickers, and a scheduler that won't serve the same mandate or condition back to back. No two runs play the same.

Build a gloriously broken trader

  • Four classes, each with an exclusive two-power kit: The Chad rides 5x leverage, The Quant sees six ticks into the future, The Cockroach refuses to die, The Insider gets a free tip line that rings four times a day.
  • 29 relics and 16 powers. Draft one of three desk tools after every bell, then shop for relics and upgrades. Perma-install tools with Street Cred to use them from day one in future runs.
  • Relics that reward a style — scalping, diamond-handing, hot streaks — and light up when you pair the right ones.
  • Print the GOD CANDLE: a divine, screen-shaking vertical candle straight into your position.

Read the tape, not the headline

  • Earnings follow guidance, not the EPS print. A beat can tank. A miss can rip.
  • Every ticker hides a good, mid, or bad book. You infer it from noisy sector-relative signals — and some of those signals are cooked.
  • Draw stop orders straight onto the chart. Trim, flip, and scale mid-tape.
  • Optional side contracts every morning, paid at the bell. Tempting. Never mandatory.

The floor has opinions

  • 25 in-day floor events with real stakes: take the bribe, buy the hot tip, ride the pump, park cash in real estate, wine, or art — decisions that pay off, or detonate, the next day.
  • Rare gold JACKPOT and red DISASTER events that can make or end a run.

Then do it again, harder

  • Four difficulties from Rookie to Prop Desk, then Ascension on top.
  • A seeded Daily Gauntlet — same market for everyone, every day.
  • Endless mode for when ten days stops being enough.
  • 33 achievements, Career records per class, a Hall of Fame, and a leaderboard.
  • A Trophy Room of ten chart skins bought with Street Cred.

Built for it

  • Procedural synth soundtrack and per-action SFX, synthesized in-engine.
  • Colorblind palette, UI scaling, and toggles for screen shake, extra effects, and CRT scanlines.
  • Full controller support with device-aware prompts and seamless switching between gamepad and keyboard/mouse.
  • Steam Cloud saves. Runs on a laptop.

Every death is your own greed. Retire forever — or get liquidated.

Learn the desk, then take the risk

Practice long, short, closing a position, and leverage at your own pace in a guided Practice Desk. Slow the live tape to 0.5x or freeze the clock to study the chart and your tools. The Quant’s passive foresight now shows its stated six ticks instead of twice that range. Each run ends with a clear target-and-equity debrief and a direct retry with the same strategy.

Review the tape

After every closing bell the desk replays your day: the whole session's candles, every entry and exit you made, the day's best move, and a Desk Note that names what decided it — a margin call, a winner given back, a trend you fought, or fees that ate the gains. Your fills mark the live chart as you trade, and the results screen turns a lost run's clearest lesson into your next thing to try.

Market Research

An optional Market Research panel under Desk & Settings on the title menu opens supported U.S. tickers in Google Finance through Steam Overlay, or your system browser outside Steam. It uses a limited local reference table for selected Nasdaq and NYSE listings. No Google Finance prices or market data appear in the game.

The title menu now keeps play choices and the learning shortcut up front. Research, Trophy Room, leaderboard, career records, controls and settings live together in Desk & Settings.
