Pleiades Zero is a 2D maze-puzzle platformer set among the stars of the Pleiades. As Beiling, wield a laser whip and laser shield, launch off any surface — floor, wall, or ceiling — and carve a path to the seventh sister to uncover the truth of the universe.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Pleiades Zero is built around movement, combat, and puzzle design that get sharper with real players testing them. The core is here — Beiling, the laser whip and shield, the surface-contact jumping, and the journey through the Seven Sisters — but the game becomes far better when its difficulty, level layouts, and enemy encounters are tuned against how people actually play. We're releasing in Early Access so the community can help shape the pacing, the puzzles, and the challenge as the world of the Pleiades grows. Player feedback is the fastest way to make this game everything we want it to be.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to stay in Early Access until the full seven-star journey is complete and polished to the standard we're aiming for. We'd rather take the time needed to expand the levels, refine the puzzles, and get performance and presentation right. Our goal is to leave Early Access when the game is ready, not before. We expect the game to remain in Early Access by roughly late 2027.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to significantly expand the scope of the game during Early Access. Our intentions for the full version include:

Longer, more intricate levels across all seven stars of the Pleiades.

A wider variety of enemies and encounters.

More challenging and varied maze and puzzle design.

Baked textures and performance optimization for smoother play.

An improved, more atmospheric soundtrack.

A more fully realized telling of Beiling's story and the truth at the heart of the seventh star.

These reflect our current plans and the direction we'd like to take the game, and they may evolve as development continues and we gather community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Pleiades Zero is currently a playable 2D maze-puzzle platformer. Players control Beiling with full movement, jumping, and the game's signature surface-contact jump (letting you launch off floors, walls, and ceilings), along with the laser whip for attacking and the laser shield for defense. The Pleiades setting, the core traversal and combat loop, and early levels, enemies, and puzzles are all in place and playable.
As an Early Access title, it's still a work in progress. Textures are not yet fully optimized, so performance can be uneven in places; the soundtrack is early; enemy variety is limited; and the levels are shorter and the puzzles less demanding than we intend them to be in the finished game. We're sharing it now so players can experience the core and help us grow it.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to increase the price as the game grows in content and scope over the course of Early Access. Purchasing during Early Access means getting the game at its lowest price while helping guide its development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will directly shape how Pleiades Zero develops. We plan to use the Steam Community Hub and discussion boards to gather input on difficulty, puzzle design, enemy encounters, and performance, and to collect bug reports from players across different hardware. Because so much of the game is about tuning challenge and pacing, hearing how players approach the mazes and combat is invaluable — we plan to fold that feedback into level design, enemy behavior, and overall balance as we build toward the full version.”

About This Game

PLEIADES ZERO

Somewhere in the Pleiades cluster, a traveler named Beiling sets out across seven stars, each ruled by one of the Seven Sisters. To reach the seventh and final star is to reach the truth of the universe itself — a truth that will unmake everything Beiling believes about their own reality.

Pleiades Zero is a 2D maze-puzzle platformer built around movement, timing, and momentum. Every surface is a foothold: floors, walls, and ceilings all reset your jump, turning each chamber into a three-dimensional puzzle you solve with your feet. Armed with a laser whip to strike and a laser shield to survive, you'll fight, climb, and think your way toward the light of the seventh sister.

Features

  • Surface-jump traversal — bounce off any surface you touch, floors, walls, and ceilings alike, to thread mazes no ordinary jump could reach

  • Laser whip & laser shield — a two-button combat rhythm of attack and defense

  • Maze-puzzle platforming — navigation, timing, and spatial puzzles woven into every level

  • Seven stars, seven sisters — a journey through the Pleiades toward a truth that rewrites reality

  • A striking retro look — chunky pixel art beneath vast, minimalist alien skies

Seven sisters stand between Beiling and the truth. How far will you climb to see it?

Controls

  • A / D — Move left / right

  • W — Jump (touch any surface to reset your jump — yes, ceilings too)
