What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“SummonFall already has a playable single-player core loop built around action combat, floor progression, loot, equipment, summon allies, skills, upgrades, inventory management, crafting, and persistent progression.
Early Access allows us to improve this foundation with players while feedback can still make a meaningful difference. We want player experience to help us tune combat readability, enemy and boss difficulty, loot balance, summon usefulness, build variety, progression pacing, UI clarity, performance, and priorities for version 1.0.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect SummonFall to remain in Early Access for roughly 6 to 12 months.
This is an estimate rather than a fixed deadline. The schedule may change depending on player feedback, balance and technical work, and the quality of planned improvements. We would rather adjust the timeline than release version 1.0 before it is ready.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to retain the same floor-based action-RPG foundation while providing a more complete, balanced, and polished progression experience.
Development toward version 1.0 is expected to include further work on characters and summons, equipment and build variety, floor and boss encounters, loot and progression balance, skills and upgrades, onboarding, UI readability, quality-of-life features, performance, and bug fixing.
The exact order and scope may change in response to player feedback and testing.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version is a playable single-player Windows game with its main gameplay loop in place. Players can fight through monster-filled floors and boss encounters, earn experience and Souls, collect and equip ranked weapons, armour, jewellery, and summon equipment, choose skills and upgrades, manage their inventory, craft and improve equipment, complete floors, and retain local progression between sessions.
The game does not yet have the breadth or polish intended for version 1.0. Balance, pacing, onboarding, UI readability, performance, character and summon refinement, later-floor polish, and content variety remain in development. Players should expect bugs and changes during Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The Early Access price is intended to reflect the content available at launch.
We currently expect that the price may increase when SummonFall reaches version 1.0 if the game has grown substantially in content, features, and polish. A final version 1.0 price has not been set, and we will communicate any planned change before it takes effect.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Steam Discussions will be the primary public place for bug reports, feedback, balance discussions, and development updates.
We plan to review feedback regularly, particularly recurring reports about combat clarity, difficulty, loot, builds, summons, progression, UI, bugs, and performance. Patch notes and development posts will explain important changes and current priorities. Community feedback will help shape those priorities, although every individual suggestion cannot be guaranteed.”
