About This Game

A tiny companion that moves into your desktop. Hatch a baby dragon (or unbox a pup) and it lives in a small transparent window: flapping along with your keystrokes while you work, snoozing at night, and occasionally leaving you a little "gift" to scoop.

Why we made TomoBuddy

We’re two developers who wanted pets of our own, but life, rising costs, and not enough time kept getting in the way. So we created TomoBuddy, a tiny virtual companion that brings some of the joy, routine, and lovable chaos of caring for a pet right to your desktop.

We hope you love it as much as we do, and please look forward to tons of cool stuff to be added in the future!

Your desk, its home

• It reacts to you. Type anywhere and your pet vibes along, earning XP. Mealtime eats your words. At feeding time, the words you type become its dinner, plus any kibble you click from your bag.

• Pet it, drag it, boss it around. Click and hold for hearts. Drag it anywhere on screen, it remembers its spot. Right-click for Feed, Play, Clean, and Sleep.

A real care loop, with real stakes

• Hunger, happiness, hygiene, and energy decay in real time, in the spirit of the pocket pets of the 90s. []Auto-sleep follows your local clock. Nights are safe.

• Neglect two needs to zero and your pet will die, after a 10-minute warning. RIP.

Grow a collection

• Level up and evolve. Unlock little treasures: hats, palette swaps, and more.

• Earn coins in minigames (food-fueled Frenzy, Tag, Workout, Shower cleaning) and spend them in the shop.

• Raise multiple pets: one lives on your desktop while the rest hang out in the Playpen.

• Achievements with a collapsible memory log of your pet's life.
  

Privacy, up front

The typing reaction uses a global keyboard hook that counts keystroke events only. It never reads, stores, or transmits which keys you press. Key identity is discarded immediately, and the counting code is open source on GitHub. TomoBuddy makes zero network calls.
