About This Game

Notice: This game currently supports Japanese only.

Three ghost stories, told in an old-fashioned café on a rainy night—

This is the second installment in Kyofu Yawa, a horror visual novel series in which you click to progress through the story.

The story is self-contained, so you can enjoy this game even if you have not played the first title.

Through text and sound, the game gradually builds a sense of dread while preserving the atmosphere of a classic Japanese ghost story.

In a café filled with the sound of rain, listen closely to the stories of three strangers.

STORY

On a rainy night in the 1990s—when mobile phones and the internet had yet to become part of everyday life.

As the rain continues to fall, you—a freelance writer for a third-rate occult magazine—meet three people in an old-fashioned café to interview them about supposedly true ghost stories submitted by readers.

One is a timid young man tormented by “sounds beneath the floorboards” of an old one-story house that rents for just 15,000 yen a month.

One is a soccer coach who encountered “something” at a closed-down junior high school on a night of torrential rain.

One is a cold, composed woman who saw something she never should have at an abandoned hotel deep in the mountains.

Each seemed like nothing more than a ghost story—perfectly suited to fill the pages of a third-rate magazine.

But even after you have heard all three stories, the night of interviews is not over—

Can you still let this night end as nothing more than a collection of ghost stories?

FEATURES

◆ Three ghost stories told over a single night

“Beneath the Floorboards,” “The Old School in the Rain,” and “The Abandoned Hotel in the Mountains.”

You are free to choose the order in which you hear the three stories.

◆ Fear that lingers

Through the memories recounted by the three storytellers, experience the dread and lingering unease unique to ghost stories—feelings that stay with you even after the tale is over.

◆ What awaits beyond the night

After hearing all three stories, the actions you choose will determine which ending you reach.

◆ A connection to the first game

The story stands on its own, so newcomers can start here without having played the first title.

Players of the first Kyofu Yawa may glimpse part of a mystery left behind that night.

◆ Endings

Four endings: one true ending, one normal ending, and two bad endings.

◆ Playtime

Approximately 2–2.5 hours, with more than twice the text volume of the first game.

Playtime may vary depending on reading speed.
