What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“TDM is built around a long-term mining, crafting, and player-driven trading economy. Early Access will allow us to observe how players progress, use different equipment builds, and trade materials through the Steam Community Market. Player feedback and live economy data will help us refine progression, resource balance, crafting recipes, and quality-of-life features before the full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Taskbar Mining to remain in Early Access for approximately six months. This schedule may change depending on player feedback, development progress, and the stability of the in-game economy.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to include additional mining depths, geological zones, ores, equipment, crafting recipes, progression goals, achievements, and quality-of-life improvements. We also plan to further refine game balance, performance, interface usability, and Steam Community Market integration based on feedback and data collected during Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core gameplay loop is fully playable: players can mine ores while using other applications, collect materials, craft and equip mining gear, improve Power, Speed, and Luck, manage battery resources, and progress into deeper geological zones.

The game also includes persistent server-side data and Steam inventory and market-related systems. The Early Access version is intended to provide a complete and enjoyable core experience, while additional equipment, ores, zones, progression content, and balance improvements will be added during development.

Items acquired or traded through supported Steam inventory and market features are not planned to be wiped during Early Access. However, drop rates, crafting requirements, item utility, and other balance values may be adjusted as development continues.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We currently plan to offer the game at a lower price during Early Access. The price may increase when the game reaches its full release to reflect the additional content, features, and improvements added throughout development. Any future pricing changes will be announced in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to actively review feedback through the Steam Community Hub, discussions, reviews, and player reports. We will pay particular attention to progression speed, equipment balance, crafting costs, resource availability, interface usability, technical compatibility, and the health of the player-driven market.

Development updates and patch notes will be shared regularly. Community feedback and gameplay data will be used to prioritize balance changes, quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, and future content.”

About This Game

Hi there~

I’m Rena, a cute blonde beauty!

TDM: Task Drill Maniac is a tiny idle mining game where I mine ores right on your taskbar and craft new equipment.

The mining continues quietly while you work or play other games. Just how deep can you go?

Combine Power, Speed, and Luck to create your own mining setup.

You can also trade the ores and materials you collect with other players on the Steam Community Market.

So, is your drill ready?

Let’s dig all the way to the end of the world together!

■ Fair Mining, Secure Economy

  • All mining results and item acquisitions are verified and processed server-side.

  • It is impossible to artificially increase ores or equipment through client manipulation or hack tools.

  • Because the server directly manages mining progress, the legitimacy of all items traded on the Market is guaranteed.

  • We provide an environment where all players can compete and grow under the same conditions.

■ Mining That Continues on Your Taskbar

  • Mining continues on your taskbar even while you are using other applications.

  • You can check your progress, switch equipment, and keep growing without complicated controls.

  • Its compact window and lightweight design allow it to run alongside work applications or other games without getting in the way.

■ Upgrade Your Equipment and Dig Deeper

  • Craft and equip five types of mining gear: drills, helmets, workwear, gloves, and batteries.

  • Increase Power to break through tougher geological layers, use Speed to shorten mining intervals, and raise Luck to improve your chances of finding rare ores.

  • Each piece of equipment has different stats and material requirements, so you will need to build a mining setup that suits your current goals.

  • Dismantle unwanted equipment and reuse the recovered materials to craft better gear.

■ Diverse Geological Layers and Ores

  • New geological zones and ores appear as you reach greater depths.

  • Collect a wide range of resources, from common ores to rare minerals that are difficult to discover.

  • Even lower-grade ores remain useful for crafting and battery charging, so every mining result contributes to your progression.

  • Deeper areas require stronger equipment and more efficient resource management.

■ A Player-Driven Mining Economy

  • Some ores and items you obtain can be freely traded on the Steam Community Market.

  • Choose whether to keep materials for your own use or sell them on the market.

  • Purchase missing crafting materials from other players, or sell rare resources and build your own mining economy.

  • The value of the same ore may change depending on market supply and demand.

■ Key Features

  • Compact idle gameplay designed for the taskbar

  • Automatic mining and offline progression

  • A wide variety of mineable ores

  • Diverse equipment builds

  • Equipment crafting and dismantling

  • Battery charging and resource management

  • Geological zones that change with depth

  • Steam Inventory and Steam Community Market integration

  • Lightweight design made to run alongside other applications

  • Five equipment categories: drills, helmets, workwear, gloves, and batteries

A small mining operation on the edge of your taskbar can grow into a massive mining economy. Dig deeper, craft better equipment, and decide the value of the resources you discover.
