An RPG that plays itself

Lowmoor is an idle RPG in the spirit of Progress Quest. Create an adventurer and let them hunt, gain levels, use abilities, sell loot and equip better gear automatically. Combat and quests continue without input, even when you manage character upgrades yourself.

Build your adventurer

Start with a choice of 12 folk, 12 trades and 12 origins, each with its own bonuses. Unlock more through your adventures. Every trade has a signature ability that grows with kills and has its own talent tree, which you can reset for gold. Choose feats, raise pets and recruit hirelings.

Plan a path through 2,111 skills

The Long Charter is a skill tree with eight branches, 160 major skills, eight masteries and a choice of one of eight oaths. Earn points as you level up and defeat chapter bosses. Complete rings to unlock major skills and plan your own route, or let automatic allocation spend the points for you.

Watch combat resolved with a d20

Fights use attack rolls, damage dice and saving throws. Your equipment and skills affect the results, and the game rolls the dice. Spells and martial abilities activate automatically across eight schools.

Keep the game beside your work

Choose Fold to switch the desktop app to Companion Mode: a narrow strip that stays above other windows. It shows your adventurer, current activity, gold, HP, MP, progress and the latest log entry. Your opponent appears during combat. Choose Unfold to return to the full window.

Complete your bestiary and collect treasures

Discover 207 illustrated monsters in the bestiary, each with its own lore. Repeated victories unlock practical Guild notes about them. Earn 100 Steam achievements and fill the Trophy Case with rare treasures and records of defeated bosses. The game also records the hirelings you meet.

Answer letters when you wish

Letters offer optional choices during the adventure. The first answer is always safe and requires no ability check. Later answers may require a d20 roll. An unanswered letter never stops your progress.

Upgrade your equipment

Four equipment slots hold armour, a main-hand item, an off-hand item and an accessory. With auto-equip enabled, your adventurer equips better finds. The equipment catalogue includes six rarity tiers, twenty material tiers, item bonuses, pair bonuses and sets. Choose an offensive or defensive equipment preference to influence the gear you find.

Finish three complete adventures

Descend through the Maw's thirty floors across five story arcs. After completing it, enter the Mourning Vale, with a prologue and six chapters. The Last Anchorage adds a sea voyage with a prologue and six chapters in search of a missing Guild expedition. Survey routes, rescue crews and upgrade your ship. It opens after completing the Maw and recording 200 hours of adventuring, or after any Vale ending. Recorded hours include your current and retired adventurers.

The three adventures have eight endings between them. Play continues afterward in court seasons, further nights in the Vale or coastal patrols. Prestige, achievements, monster mastery, hireling records, the Trophy Case and Guildhouse upgrades carry across chronicles.

Choose your desktop and language

Pick a Windows 98, GNOME 1 or Mac OS 8 theme, each with light and dark variants. Play in English, Polish, Simplified Chinese, German, Brazilian Portuguese or Japanese. Choose a language at first launch or change it in Options.
