About This Demo

This demo contains the opening chapter of Synapse.

In Synapse City, every resident’s emotional wellbeing is measured as a Mental Score, which determines their Rank. It decides where you can live, what you can access, and how long you can hide what you’re feeling.

You are a former systems engineer at Synapse Control. You understand the system better than most - but now being jobless and lonely make your own Mental Score decay, an eviction warning is counting down, and technical knowledge won't be enough to save you.

Rely on emotional stimulants, dangerous connections if nothing else left. A neighbour needs an illegal hack. A fixer offers dangerous technology and a job stealing forbidden code. Cryptic signs of an organised resistance keep turning up on the city's walls. Every connection might keep you afloat, expose you, or pull you into something much larger.
