What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We’re using Early Access so players can jump into BLUE GUY MUST DIE while we build out the full campaign. The core survivors-like loop—auto-fire combat, upgrades, toxic bugs, and the Forest zone—is already playable, and player feedback will help us shape balance, feel, and what comes next. Shipping Early Access lets us improve the game with a real community instead of waiting until every zone is done.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan for Early Access to last roughly 2-3 months, depending on feedback and how development goes. That timeline may shift as we learn what players care about most.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Early Access focuses on the Forest campaign: waves of toxic bugs, weapons and upgrades, Mercy Drops, and the systems that make a run feel good.

For the full release, we plan to expand the mission beyond the Forest with additional zones (including Desert and Factory content), more bosses and enemy variety, and further polish to combat, progression, and overall presentation. Exact features and scope may change based on community feedback and what proves most fun in Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current build is a complete Early Access slice of the game centered on the Forest. You can start runs, fight through Forest waves, unlock and upgrade weapons, use powerups, manage gold/ammo/health, deal with toxic barrels and waste, and face the Forest content available now.

Desert and Factory zones are not in this Early Access build; those are planned for later. We expect to keep refining balance, clarity, and stability throughout Early Access based on player reports and feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to keep Early Access priced lower than the intended full-release price, then raise the price as we ship major new content and move toward the finished game. Anyone who buys during Early Access will own the game as it grows—no repurchase needed when we leave Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to listen closely through Steam discussions, reviews, and bug reports. Feedback on difficulty, weapon feel, clarity, and what content players want next will help guide priorities. When players report issues, we plan to investigate and address them as part of ongoing Early Access updates, and we’ll share progress through Steam announcements as development continues.”

About This Game

You’re Blue Guy—elite SWAT, last clean suit left. The woods are sick, the bugs are huge, and the trail points toward something worse beyond the trees.

BLUE GUY MUST DIE is a wave-based survivors-like: kite the swarm while your loadout auto-fires, grab gold and pickups mid-fight, and spend XP on sharper weapons and harder powerups.

This Early Access build focuses on the Forest—the first stretch of the mission. Survive wave after wave of oversized toxic bugs, learn the loop, and put down the Forest boss. The full release is planned to continue the fight into the Desert and the leaking Factory.

Key Features (Early Access)

• Survivors-style combat — WASD or click-to-move while weapons lock on and fire for you
• Toxic bug apocalypse — ground crawlers, flying pests, and a Forest boss
• Build your loadout — Knife, Handgun, Uzi, Shotgun, Blade, Grenades, and more as you level
• Power up or perish — speed, damage, attack speed, magnet, shield, HP, and other mid-run upgrades
• Forest zone — the opening gauntlet of the full campaign
• Live with the fallout — crack toxic barrels, dodge waste puddles, and don’t let buffed bugs run you over
• Mercy Drops — parachute supply crates when ammo, health, or luck runs out (if you can afford them)
• Radar, gold, and tough calls — manage resources under pressure and try for a clean clear

Planned for the full release

• Desert zone — the next stretch after the Forest
• Factory zone — the leaking source at the end of the trail
• More bosses and content as the campaign expands

The mission is simple: wipe the hive before it spreads. Early Access starts in the Forest. The full game is planned to finish the job through Desert and Factory.
