What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Cindervale Idle is built by a single developer, and Early Access lets me shape it alongside the people actually playing it. Idle RPGs live and die on pacing and balance — how fast skills level, how drops feel, where the grind gets tedious — and no amount of solo testing matches real players pouring hundreds of hours into their own saves. Early Access lets me gather that feedback, fix what isn't fun, and prioritize the content players want most instead of guessing in a vacuum.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I'm aiming for roughly 6 months in Early Access, though the priority is getting it right over hitting a fixed date. If the remaining features and balance come together sooner, it'll leave Early Access sooner; if they need more time, I'll take it. Development is active and ongoing, with regular updates throughout.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to expand meaningfully on the Early Access build. Things I plan to add and improve:

- Two new combat styles — Magic and Ranged — alongside the current melee combat.
- Deeper combat progression, including fully wiring the Combat Mastery tree into combat with unique node effects.
- More end-game content: additional gear tiers, combat-focused crafting recipes using monster drops, and further zones, bosses, and raids.
- Ongoing balance passes across the skill trees and progression curve, driven by player feedback.

I plan to grow both the amount of content and the level of polish throughout Early Access. As with any in-development game, these are intentions rather than guarantees, and the roadmap may shift based on what players respond to.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Cindervale Idle is already a full, playable idle RPG — this is a content-and-polish Early Access, not an unfinished prototype. The current version includes:

- 12 skilling professions, each with a 98-point mastery tree.
- A melee combat system across 12 zones with 80+ monsters and bosses.
- 300+ items (each with custom art), forging, socketable gems, and enchanting.
- Raids, 9 collectible familiars, and 33 achievements.
- Offline progression, auto-eat, and multiple save slots.

You can comfortably sink dozens of hours into the current build. Magic and Ranged combat aren't implemented yet, and some late-game systems are still being expanded — see "how the full version will differ" above.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the price of the game may increase once it exits Early Access as we add more content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is central to how Cindervale develops. The main hub is the game's Discord server, where players can report bugs, suggest features, and talk directly with me — I read everything and it genuinely shapes what gets built and balanced next. I'll also be active in the Steam Community Discussions for feedback and bug reports.”

About This Game

What is Cindervale Idle?

Cindervale Idle takes everything addictive about a deep fantasy RPG and strips it to its purest form. Train, gather, craft, and fight with a single click — then close the game and let your embers keep burning. Offline progression means the grind never stops, even when you do.

Whether you've sunk a thousand hours into classic skilling RPGs or you've never touched one, Cindervale is built to fit around your life. Idle when you're busy. Min-max when you're not. Every system rewards the time you give it.

Main Features

  • Sailing - Build your ship, make it stronger, hire crew members to charter the vast ocean and islands, navigate fierce conditions all for the treasure haul!

  • 12 skilling professions — Woodcutting, Mining, Fishing, Foraging, Smithing, Cooking, Alchemy, Firemaking, Agility, Jeweler, Farming, and Crafting. Every skill feeds the others.

  • A 98-point mastery tree for every skill — Deep, meaningful passive trees let you specialize, not just level up. Build your own path to Grandmaster.

  • 12 combat zones & 80+ foes — Grind standard monsters, hunt rare spawns, and topple a boss at the end of every zone. From the Rat Warrens to Thornwood Thicket, Frostfang Tundra, the Ashen Steppe, and beyond.

  • Forge, socket & enchant — Smith tiered gear, slot socketable gems, and enchant your loadout. Two-handed weapons, shields, and off-hands all change how you fight.

  • 12 collectible familiars — Rare monster spawns seed a collection of zone-specific pets. Gotta hunt 'em all.

  • Raids — One shot gauntlets that test your best gear and build for the best loot.

  • Offline progression — Your skills and battles push forward while the game is closed. Come back to a haul every time.

  • 33 achievements — Long-haul goals to chase across every corner of the game.

  • Multiple save slots — Run different builds side by side.

Master twelve skills

Every profession in Cindervale interacts with the others. There's no dead-end skill — every hour you pour into one pays off across the rest. What order will you master them in?

Descend into the dark

When your gear is ready, take the fight underground. Battle through twelve escalating zones of rats, spiders, shades, and demons, each capped by a boss that guards its rarest drops. Track every kill in the Monster Log, chase rare spawns for your familiar collection, and spend your Combat Mastery points across a sprawling tree that reshapes how you fight. New combat styles and content land in regular updates — the darkness keeps growing.

Sail across the seas

Chart a heading, load the hold, hire the crew, send it. The voyage runs on real-world time and finishes whether the game is open or not.

  • 26 islands across four archipelagos: The Shallows, The Wracks, The Mistlands, The Far Reaches.

  • Seven hulls, from a Lashed Raft to an Ancient Leviathan. The later ones are built partly out of what the last one brought back.

  • Five fitted slots on every hull: cannons, sails, rudder, cargo hold, figurehead.

  • Five crew roles to berth: carpenter, cooper, gunner, navigator, lookout. Each takes a wage every time you leave port.

  • 44 things that exist only at sea, feeding back into smithing, jewellery and the next hull up.

Treasure charts unseal four islands you cannot otherwise reach. Blackfog can put you ashore somewhere you hold no chart for at all, and it stays on the chart afterwards. Five permanent keepsakes make up the Trove.

Cindervale is designed to be played your way. Leave it running in the background, check in on your phone-sized breaks, or sit down for a deep min-maxing session — the game meets you where you are. Auto-eat keeps you alive, offline progress keeps you moving, and there's always one more level, one more drop, one more zone.

The embers of Cindervale are waiting. Will you let them die — or forge something legendary?
