About This Game

Story:

You were born a bastard, your father was king yet your family struggles to get by. Your mother told you he was going to legitimize you but passed away too suddently. You belive your mother, better yet you feel it in your bones. You were meant to be king, you have always had a natural ability to lead. Its time to venture forth and claim your destiny. "I'll come back a king, or not at all". Those were the last words you told her before heading deep into the forest.

Features:

World Generation:

World generation is random and infinate. Its done using a world generation system i made called SITS. Any data already generated is stored in a mapdata array and referenced so it does not waste resources regenerating the same tiles. This gives you an infinate size game world. All terrain data is saved when you save the game so you dont lose any mapdata.

Random Encounters:

You will bump into random bandits and goblins when you explore. These can be defeated to gain vital silver coins. Silver coins is the worlds currency and needed in great supply so get as much as you can.

Gather Resources:

Wood, flax and small stones can be gathered in the wilderness. Food can be found in the wilderness, harvested from farms, bought from villages and caravans or fished from the ponds.

Crafting:

Your a bastard not a master blacksmith, you can make some basic tools like a basic stone axe and flimsy bow but count on buying the majority of your equipment from villages or traveling caravans.

Building A Fort:

Use the building system to build yourself a fort. Remember to take seiges into acount since once you plant your flag and declare yourself king you will have nightly raids to worry about. These will grow as you claim more villages. You start off only beeing able to build with wood and rely on villages for better building materials. If you play your cards right you will soon have thick strong stone walls between you and your enemies.

Declare Yourself King:

This is where the real game starts. Your not forced to rush to this part but you better be ready when you do. This stage involves raising troops, defending your fort, defending your villages and keeping your army feed and payed.

Levy Troops:

Once you control a villages you will be able to levy troops from them. These troops expect food and silver every day and can be used to garrison both villages and your fortress. They can also be split into groups and commanded by the player directly to follow in formation or attack selected targets. They come in the shape of Archers and Footmen and their equipment will be based on what you have available.

Villages:

Villages are randomly generated and found by exploring. It might be a good idea to make your fort near a village as it will make it easier to defend both. Villages are one of the key mechanics in the game, the more villages you rule the more powerfull and rich you will get. However this also means you will attract more attention, and have harder enemies to defend against. Villages will not get attacked by rival lords but undefended villages might get raided or burned down by bandits. If this was your f.eks food supply or ore supply you will be in big trouble. A burned down village will be rebuilt but this takes time and you will not get anything from it before its rebuilt.

Defeat:

If an enemy reaches your flag its game over. Choose your fort over villages every time since villages can be recaptured. That flag is your legitimazy, lose it and you will lose everything.

The kingdom is yours for the taking, time to claim your destiny.
