Helsinki Online is an experimental open-world online game set in Helsinki. Roam the city on foot, behind the wheel, or in the air, and create your own mark on it with your friends!

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Generative image editing capabilities have been used in processing real aerial photography, to remove distortions and remove shadows. And for example, to generate normal maps from these albedo textures to enhance surface detail on the facades of some landmark buidings.

Generative image editing capabilities have also been used to render NPC character billboard texture atlases by combining real 3D models, and pictures of real people, to transform a real person into an animated 8 directional set of textures.

Generative AI has also been used currently in development for a small selection of sound effects, to be replaced with real ones as the development progresses.

Generative image generation capabilities have also been used to generate some billboard textures of some species of trees, where such resources could not have been sourced by other means, or where for example, making season variants of them would have been too difficult

I am a solo dev and do this out of passion, and I believe despite some of the negative uses of AI, for individual creators it can be a very empowering set of tools among other tools that can be used tastefully to create something new.
