About This Game

The Tyrant's fleet has swallowed six sectors. Someone has to fly into the light — better if you don't fly alone.

Neon Tyrant is a vertical scrolling shoot-em-up in the spirit of the classics, rebuilt around one idea: co-op that actually means something.

TOGETHERNESS IS A MECHANIC

• Bond beams — fly close to a wingmate and your shields regenerate twice as fast, kills score more, and defensive power-ups are shared.

• Active rescue — when you fall, you're not out. You're a drifting wreck with 15 seconds on the clock, and your partner must fly to you and hold position under fire. The rescue link glows green. Nobody forgets their first save.

• Quick pings, shared credits, one team — up to 4 pilots, local, LAN or online through Steam.

FLYING ALONE? HIRE A WINGMAN

• An AI combat drone with its own hull, shield and arsenal — every weapon you can buy, it can carry.

• Three AI cores: Mk I shoots what's in front of it. Mk II leads targets, dodges and picks its fights. Mk III reads the whole screen — and learns: every hunt teaches it which enemies to respect.

• It can die. Repairs cost. Take care of your wing.

A RUN THAT'S YOURS

• 9 evolving weapons — every weapon levels 1-5, growing new bullet streams as it matures.

• 20 draftable perks — between sectors, each pilot picks a boon: ricochet rounds, a dead man's switch, a guardian angel. Bosses drop rarer relics. No two runs build alike.

• 4 unlockable ships, secondary weapons, mega bombs, sidekick drones.

AI tools were used during development to assist with writing code, and to produce two categories of content shipped with the game: the original synthwave soundtrack (composed with AI music generation, curated and selected by the developer) and the interface translations for the non-English languages (reviewed by the developer). Some store page text was also drafted with AI assistance. All in-game worlds are generated procedurally by hand-written algorithms — no AI content is generated at runtime.
