About This Game

Want more out of your time-wasting games than just "numbers go up"? Background Hero is a RuneScape inspired skill-management and idle progression based game that aims to recreate that dopamine hit of maxing out a variety of skills.

At the core is a deep roster of skills to train, from woodcutting and mining to smithing, cooking, brewing, magic, and more, each with its own resource chains, recipes, and gear to chase. Decide what to work on next, push toward the level that unlocks a better recipe or tougher node, and watch your completion ring creep closer to 100%.

Every action you take builds Mastery, a system built around specializing. Stick with a favorite spot long enough and you'll unlock faster completion times, bonus yields, and a shot at not even burning through your materials.

Keep your eyes open while you gather, because rare finds turn up when you least expect them. What you do with them is up to you: brew a potion, craft a piece of gear, or sell it off for gold.

Beyond the daily grind, Achievements and Task Diaries lay out checklists that reward permanent bonuses once cleared, giving you something bigger to build toward.

Looking for a change of pace? Send your hero off on treasure hunts for a shot at rare rewards, then haul everything back to the trade market to buy, sell, and gear up for what comes next.
