What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Cozy Coast is complete and fun to play today as a solo idle fishing game, but it is built to grow into a whole little coast: a farm, a kitchen, a bar, and a shared hub where you fish alongside friends. Releasing in Early Access lets people enjoy it now and helps shape what comes next. The economy, the pacing, and the feel of a game you leave running in the corner of your screen all get better with real players poking at them, and we would rather build the rest of the coast with that feedback than on our own.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to be in Early Access for about three to six months. The solo game is already finished, so Early Access is focused: finish tuning the economy and pacing with real player feedback, then build out the shared multiplayer hub and the farm systems. We would rather leave Early Access when it is ready than pad the time, and three to six months is our honest estimate for getting there.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to add the systems that turn a solo fishing widget into a living coast:

- A kitchen where you cook your catch into dishes that buff your fishing.
- Crops and a windmill, plus an animal pen, that feed the kitchen.
- A bar where drinks brewed over real days bend the rules, and a barkeep who buys a daily catch of the day.
- A hand-authored hub map you can walk your angler around.
- An opt-in shared hub where you see friends and other players fishing nearby.

We also plan to keep expanding the fish, cosmetics, achievements, and quality of life along the way. We plan to add these things, but we are not promising a fixed list or dates: some ideas will change as we learn what players enjoy.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Cozy Coast is a complete, polished solo idle fishing game. You fish four waters (the sea, the deep sea, the pond, and the deep pond) with 65 species to discover up to an ultra-rare exotic tier, climb a rod ladder and a branching skill tree, forage the beach, open loot chests, craft trinkets, dress up your angler, and watch a day and night cycle roll over the coast. It runs in a small window in the corner of your screen, keeps fishing while you are away, and saves to the Steam Cloud. It is genuinely enjoyable from start to finish today. What is not in yet is the farm and social content described above, which arrives during Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to raise the price as we ship new content, so the game will likely cost more when it leaves Early Access than it does now. Buying during Early Access is the cheapest it will be. We do not plan to lower the price when we leave Early Access.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We read the Steam community hub and take player feedback seriously, especially on economy pacing, difficulty, and the feel of an idle game you leave running all day. We share what we are working on through a public roadmap and a changelog, and we plan to let community feedback steer which features come next and how they are tuned. Bug reports are easy to send from inside the game, and we act on them.”

About This Game

A desk pet with a fishing rod.

Cozy Coast runs quietly in a small window in the corner of your screen, idling while you work, study, or browse. Drop in whenever you like to cast a line, sort your catch, and watch your little stretch of coast come to life.

Fish at your own pace

  • Cast by hand, or buy a rod and let it fish for you.

  • Offline progress: the coast keeps fishing while you are away.

  • No pressure, no grind walls. A calm loop you can dip into for ten seconds or ten minutes.

Fill the almanac

  • 65 fish to find across four waters: the sea, the deep sea, the pond, and the deep pond.

  • A rarity ladder from common minnows all the way up to ultra-rare exotics for near-maxed anglers.

  • Seasonal shells, odd bycatch, and a night shift of fish that only bite after dark.

Grow your angler

  • Climb the rod ladder, unlock new waters, and spend skill points on a branching tree.

  • Forage the beach, crack open drifting loot chests, and shoo the gulls for rewards.

  • Dismantle your finds and forge trinkets worth more than the raw catch.

Make it yours

  • A shop with rods, upgrades, and special lures for chasing the rarest fish.

  • Dress up your little angler with hair, clothes, and rotating seasonal cosmetics.

A living coast

  • A gentle day and night cycle rolls over the shore, and the torch glows after dark.

  • Encrypted Steam Cloud saves that follow you between computers.

Cozy Coast launches as a complete solo game, and Early Access is where it grows into a whole little coast. These features are planned, the order and scope may change, and there are no dates: we would rather ship them right than rush them.

  • Kitchen and cooking: turn your catch into dishes that buff the next stretch of fishing.

  • Crops and the windmill: a small farm beside the fishery, growing on real time.

  • Animal pen and breeding: a cozy pen of animals making ingredients on idle timers.

  • Bar and brewing: age drinks that bend the rules, with a barkeep who buys a daily catch of the day.

  • The hub map: step out of the widget into a bigger, hand-authored map.

  • Fish with friends: share the hub with other anglers, brokered through Steam, no servers to run.

Tight lines. Cast whenever you like.
