What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“NODE ZERO is being developed as a Proof-by-Proof psychological horror experience. Each major update is intended to expand the NEXUS management client with new incidents, systems, narrative escalation, and increasingly adaptive behavior.

Early Access gives me the opportunity to test the game's investigation systems and difficulty balance against real player behavior while later Proofs are still in development. Because NODE ZERO is built around how players interpret evidence and interact with the client, feedback is especially valuable when identifying unclear investigation paths, unintended solutions, and areas where the interface communicates too much or too little.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I currently expect NODE ZERO to remain in Early Access for approximately 6 to 12 months. Development is structured around major Proof updates, with the game leaving Early Access when the planned core Proof sequence, ending structure, Archive, Custom Proof content, and final release polish are ready.

This estimate may change depending on development and testing needs.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan for the full version of NODE ZERO to contain seven core Proofs, multiple ending outcomes, the Archive, Custom Proof content, expanded adaptive behavior, and additional narrative and presentation systems.

Later Proofs are intended to increase the complexity of incident investigation and place greater pressure on the habits players establish while operating the NEXUS client. We also plan to continue improving previously released content through balance changes, accessibility improvements, bug fixes, and interface refinements as development progresses.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The planned initial Early Access release is being developed around Initial Access, Proof 1, and Proof 2.

Current systems include the NEXUS management environment, seeded incident configurations, system stability and node degradation, Guided and Standard Operator Assistance, persistent run progression, isolated Proof replay sessions, and the foundation of NODE ZERO's adaptive behavior systems.

The complete narrative and ending paths are not yet available.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. NODE ZERO is planned to launch at a lower price during Early Access. We plan to increase the price when the game leaves Early Access and the complete planned experience is available.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Player feedback will primarily be used to improve investigation clarity, difficulty balance, accessibility, interface usability, and incident behavior.

NODE ZERO intentionally avoids directly presenting most solutions, so feedback about where players became confused, discovered unintended remediation paths, or interpreted system evidence differently than expected is especially useful.

Bug reports and feedback may also result in updates to previously released Proofs as development continues. I plan to communicate major content updates and development changes through Steam announcements and the NODE ZERO community.”

About This Game

ENTER THE SYSTEM

NODE ZERO is a sci-fi mystery puzzle experience set inside a cold, abstract digital system. Navigate corrupted interfaces, review fragmented data, and piece together the truth hidden behind a failing network.

What begins as a routine system check quickly turns into something far more unsettling.

INVESTIGATE THE NETWORK

Search through logs, examine evidence, and follow clues across a layered digital environment. Every proof pushes you deeper into the system, revealing more about the world, the network, and what went wrong.

SOLVE, CONNECT, DISCOVER

NODE ZERO is built around observation, deduction, and interpretation. You will need to pay attention to details, connect information across systems, and think carefully about what the interface is showing you.

FEATURES

  • Atmospheric sci-fi puzzle and mystery gameplay
  • A stylized digital world with a clean, terminal-inspired interface
  • Evidence-based progression built around observation and deduction
  • Multiple proofs to uncover and complete
  • Operator Assistance modes for different play styles
  • A focused, immersive experience with a mysterious narrative core

OPERATOR ASSISTANCE

Choose how much guidance you want during your run.

Guided offers stronger clue support and highlights important evidence, making it easier to follow the trail.

Standard presents the same information with less direct assistance, offering a more demanding investigative experience.

DESCEND DEEPER

The deeper you go, the more unstable the system becomes. Hidden patterns, buried records, and fragmented truths are waiting to be uncovered.

Find the signal. Follow the evidence. Reach NODE ZERO.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

NODE ZERO contains psychological horror, unsettling imagery, bleak and dark environments, and themes of isolation, surveillance, and loss of control. The game uses disturbing system behavior, tense audio and visual effects, and an increasingly unsettling atmosphere to create fear and psychological tension. It does not contain graphic violence, gore, sexual content, or depictions of drug use.
