About This Game

At the foot of the Leucothoe resonator, a diseased corpse is grotesquely splayed in a pile of mannequins.

On the bustling marina of Fuveu's Promenade Portuaire, a bizarre altercation culminates in a stabbing in the midst of the tourist crowds.

From these points of origin, a single catastrophic week unfolds on the microplanet of Archalh - a small, recently settled territory held by one of the long-established interplanetary nations of the “macrocosme”, joined across the span of a naturally-occurring interstellar circulatory system.

In the interval between the pulses that connect it to the wider macrocosme, every planet becomes a “closed circle”, unable to interact with the universe beyond it.

And when the next pulse at last arrives, whatever has been born on Archalh will finally be able to slip outside its borders…

GOSSAMER DIVORCE is a pixel art mystery visual novel that aims to present an immersive, atmospheric retro sci-fi setting inspired by the characteristic detailed dithered artwork and frames of PC-98 visual novels and ADVs; seen through the conflicting perspectives of multiple viewpoint characters.

This is not a mystery narrative which remains confined within the bounds of a tightly-controlled, separate secluded space - instead, the project aims to capture a wider focus and a less rapid pace, incorporating a sense of the broader setting’s flavour, and the rhythms of its viewpoint characters’ routines.

The current plan for the project’s episodic release is for the first episode to release as a free demo in 2026, followed by an Early Access release in 2027 containing the middle episodes, then for the final episode to release in 2028, completing the story.
