A sliver of battlefield above your taskbar. While you work, your adventurer fights, loots, grows — and one day falls. The gear, the Soul Stones, and the story they leave behind carry the next one farther. An idle ARPG for your desktop, walking a fallen world to the edge of the map.

About This Game

Adventurers fall. Their stories remain.
Desk Quest is an idle ARPG that lives in a thin, full-width strip right above your Windows taskbar. While you work, an adventurer is born, fights, grows — and one day falls. Standing on what they left behind, the next one walks a little farther.

A battlefield one sliver tall that never covers your work. Fighting, walking, and looting all take care of themselves.
When the meeting starts, flip on Work Mode to quiet the effects and sound, or tuck the game into the tray — the adventure keeps going. Time spent with the game closed comes back as offline rewards.
It's not a game you hide. It's a game you proudly leave running.

Every adventurer is born with a different face, different talents, a different temperament. At roadside altars, campfires, and strangers' graves, you can make the call — or let their nature decide.
The fallen are kept in the Archive, with their portrait, their story, and the time they spent on the road. Those who were first to do something are remembered with honors.
And an adventurer who has walked far enough may lay down the road and live out their days in peace.

No chests. No "open" button. Gear drops where the monster falls, goes straight into your Codex, and anything better gets equipped for you.
Grades climb from Common all the way to Mythic, with sets to complete and gear to collect. Your Codex outlives every adventurer and readies the next one for the road.
As for your favorite blade — enhance and enchant it as far as it will go.

The world ended once. No one remembers why.
With the Soul Stones your adventurers leave behind, raise the ruined forge and workshops again, and build strength that passes down the bloodline.
Your first adventurer is human — but the road doesn't end there. Some races you'll welcome through the Soul Shop, some you'll meet by chance on the road, and some wait only beyond the edge of the map.

No one has to walk alone. Pets hatch from eggs, and you won't know what's inside until it cracks open.
Pets walk beside your adventurer and lend their strength in battle. In time, more of them can travel together.
From tiny critters — to, one day, a dragon.

From quiet forests to sun-scorched wildlands, haunted crypts and lands beyond — cross region after region, and at the end of the road the main story draws to a close.
Then, where the map ends, the Abyss begins. Once you step in, there's no way back. The deeper you go, the stronger the enemies grow — and the weaker your adventurer.
Some races, classes, and titles can only be found down there.
