A Bit of Backstory

A mysterious magical artifact rests in your hands: the Trasgonomicon. Its impenetrable, leather-bound exterior has opened just for you, revealing an interior brimming with knowledge that promises enough power to reshape the entire world.

When the cover was lifted, the Book’s power seized time itself. It is alive, it knows things, and it will not allow you to fail or let itself be destroyed. If such a thing were to happen, it would return to the moment of its opening with a flick of its pages, giving you a new chance.

The magic emanating from the artifact uses what has died to give it a new purpose: it draws upon corpses. However, the trasg tribes cannot tolerate their necropolises being desecrated. Your plundering will not go unnoticed, and to fuel your quest for power, you’ll need to defend yourself. This is war. Fortunately, your future armies will come to you—in the form of their dead.

Game Cycle

The world into which you were born rejects and persecutes you. The resistance at your stronghold will be sufficient to withstand a few assaults, but eventually all your enemies will arrive… and there are thousands of them.

Survive round after round to advance through the story. The time will come when you must flee to other inhospitable lands to regain the element of surprise, but your advance will be unstoppable. Before each battle, you can strengthen your defenses by constructing or upgrading buildings, discovering powerful spells, and adjusting the composition and positioning of your army.

Perhaps one day the ultimate victory will come—the one that brings this cycle to a close, where the inevitable tomorrow is contested and decided.

Progression

Deep within the Book lie the Pages, key milestones in your reading progress. You’ll build your powers by choosing what to keep and what to discard, so you can continue reading the ever-changing contents of the Trasgonomicon.

Unlock new structures and ways to empower those under your rule to reach your ultimate power, and wipe out the tribes that pursue you for seeking to build a better world.

Fortress

On the battlefield stands the Tower, the heart of your fortress. Around it, you can construct buildings that unlock new functions. Some will provide a place to store blood or corpses, while others will aid the fortress’s defenses in the form of defensive towers, sorcery laboratories, or camps where you can train an army.

However, everything you build can be destroyed. If enemies reach the fortress, they will destroy everything in their path until they reach the Tower.

Making the most of your space and making strategic decisions will help you build a truly impregnable fortress.

Battles

By building war camps, you can recruit a variety of creatures who, in your service, will give their lives to protect your grand project. Each unit is unique and can turn the tide of battle if used at the right place and time.

Some charge into battle mindlessly, with nothing but death on their minds. Others have macabre tastes and choose their prey out of long-standing grudges or deep-seated hatred.

The enemy is equally tenacious. The defense of their dead and their sacred lands draws great warriors with unique techniques and their own preferences when it comes to destroying abominations and blasphemers. They will even try to snatch your precious loot: their freshly deceased bodies.
