Charge into the Light

Still worried that getting spotted means hitting quickload? Always thought real-time tactics was too hardcore?

In Sunward Squad, enemies need three full seconds to raise the alarm after spotting you, and any melee attack can interrupt it. A mistake doesn't have to spiral into disaster—you still have time to keep the fight contained.

Health is no longer just a safety net—it becomes a resource you can spend when you're stuck, opening up new ways through a mission and adding another layer of strategy.

Direct combat isn't a separate game. It's part of Sunward Squad's tactical design. Charging into the light becomes a deliberate choice. That doesn't mean charging in blindly. In most missions you're still heavily outnumbered, and victory comes from knowing when to step into the light—and when to stay in the shadows.

We've Thrown Enough Rocks

You Don't Need More Hands

Every operative and every ability compete for the same limited resources. While your options are broad, each mission usually gives you only a handful of characters—and only a few abilities—to work with.

Success comes from making the most of what you have.
