On paper, he owned companies. In reality, only the debts were his.

Bratislava, 1993. Shortly after Czechoslovakia split in two, young reporter Marek Varga is handed a seemingly simple assignment: look into the death of Jozef “Jožo” Baláž, director of a company implicated in fraud. It soon becomes clear that Baláž never truly ran the company. He was its straw man—a director in name only, whose name and signature kept the people actually in control off the paperwork.

Across the new border, Prague journalist Eva Svobodová uncovers the same pattern in a case of her own. When she and Marek compare notes, it becomes clear that this is more than a single local case.

This demo covers the opening chapter of the investigation. The case continues toward its resolution in the full game.
