About This Demo

The Uncovering is a detective mystery game in the style of a comic art journal. Set against the backdrop of everyday 21st‑century urban life, you step into the role of detective Sylva, delving into one puzzling case after another.

The game features strongly guided narrative—all actions are carried out within an integrated main interface. Clues are clearly displayed on the right side, divided into three tabs: Characters, Evidence, and Testimonies.

You will converse with every suspect, with topics covering different facets of the case. Through follow‑up questions and presenting evidence, new topics will unlock, revealing the hidden secrets in each person's heart.

When you obtain location‑related clues during conversations, the scene list will gradually expand, allowing you to visit those locations, talk to people connected to the case, and gather new clues and testimonies. In different cases, different "assistants" will help you; through them, you can conduct deeper investigations into more evidentiary details.

Once you have gathered enough information, cross‑examine clues against the suspects' testimonies. Select the appropriate evidence from the right‑hand clue panel and present it against suspicious statements.

You will shift between different people's perspectives, collecting scattered fragments of clues, untangling the interwoven threads within the web of relationships, and peeling apart the twisted lies and obsessions layer by layer—until the truth emerges from the story.

This is an unconventional text‑based mystery game. While it includes deductive reasoning about the case methods, the story and gameplay lean more toward exploring the subtle relationships between people.
