A Wild West bullet-heaven roguelite. You're a corn cob cowboy versus a horde of GMO veggie mutants. Your guns auto-fire, so dodge, draw level-up cards, and stack weapons to outlast 20 waves and four bosses. Die, upgrade, run it back. Yeehaw.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Corny Johnny is already a complete, playable game from the first wave to the final boss — but a bullet-heaven survivor only gets better the more it's played and tuned. Early Access lets us grow the game alongside the players who love it: adding new characters, weapons, enemies, and maps, and balancing around real feedback instead of guesswork. Joining now means the 1.0 version will be shaped by the people who helped build it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately 6 to 12 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to keep building on it with the community's help. Areas we'd like to explore include:

- Ongoing balance and feel adjustments based on player feedback
- Additional weapons, items, and passives to widen build variety
- New enemies and further boss encounters
- More arenas beyond the current three
- Continued polish to the game's visual and sound effects

These reflect our current intentions rather than firm commitments — priorities may shift as we learn what players enjoy most, and some ideas may change or not make it into the final release.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Corny Johnny is fully playable and content-rich today. The current version includes:
- A complete 20-wave run across three arenas (desert, mud, and snow), with four multi-phase boss battles at waves 5, 10, 15, and 20
- 10 playable characters, each with a unique starting weapon and passive
- 12 auto-firing weapons, a between-wave shop, and a Harvest level-up system for building your run
- Permanent meta-progression: earn Gold Bars to unlock lasting upgrades between runs
- 11+ enemy types and minions, plus companion drones and rovers that fight alongside you
- Escalating difficulty across three phases, hand-drawn Western art, an original soundtrack, and English and Indonesian support

The core game is complete and stable. Early Access is about broadening content and fine-tuning balance, not finishing an unplayable game — you get a full, satisfying experience right now, with more to come.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. We plan to raise the price as we add content during Early Access and move toward the 1.0 release, so Early Access is the lowest price the game will be. Buying in now also means helping shape where it goes.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We'll stay close to our players through the Steam Community forums and a community website DozBroz.studio , using feedback and bug reports to guide balance, quality-of-life improvements, and which new content to prioritize. Regular updates and patch notes will keep everyone in the loop, and players who join during Early Access will have a direct hand in shaping the final game.”

About This Game

Saddle up, partner. The harvest is fighting back.

Corny Johnny is a top-down bullet-heaven survivor set in a Wild West gone horribly agricultural. You're the Corn Cob Cowboy — the last shuck standing against a relentless horde of GMO veggie mutants. Your guns fire themselves; your job is to keep moving, dodge the swarm, and assemble a build nasty enough to outlast 20 escalating waves.

Every run drops you into the arena with one weapon and a dream. Mow down broccoli bits, shroomlings, and gatling grapes to bank XP and gold, then cash in between waves: draw Harvest level-up cards to power up on the fly and raid the shop to stack weapons and modifiers. Reach waves 5, 10, 15, and 20 and you'll square off against four oversized boss vegetables — culminating in the dreaded GMO Prime. Get husked, and you'll spend your hard-earned Gold Bars on permanent upgrades that make the next cob a little tougher to shuck.

Key Features

  • 10 playable cobs — from OG Johnny to Don Cornleone, Kernel Sanders, and RoboCob, each with a unique starting weapons and passive.

  • An auto-firing arsenal — 12 weapons that lock onto the nearest threat, from trusty revolvers to sawed-off shotguns. Positioning is your real weapon.

  • A fresh build every run— Harvest level-ups and a between-wave shop let you brew a different broken combo each time.

  • Permanent progression — bank Gold Bars to unlock lasting upgrades like Hearty Kernels, Spicy Fertilizer, and Golden Harvest.

  • Battle companions — deploy drones and ground rovers that burn, zap, and glue the horde while you reposition.

  • Four boss showdowns — as the difficulty climbs from Setup to Squeeze to all-out Chaos.

  • Hand-drawn Western style — a thick-outline doodle frontier with its own original soundtrack.

  • Quick, replayable runs— easy to learn, endlessly re-harvestable.

There's a new sheriff in the cornfield. Time to find out how long you can survive the harvest.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Johnny Jagung uses generative AI across much of its content. The visual art (character, enemy, boss, and UI artwork), music, sound effects, in-game text, and Indonesian translation were all created with the help of generative AI tools, then reviewed, curated, and assembled into the game by the developer — for instance, character art is hand-edited, composited, and animated from generated source images. All AI-generated content is created during development; the game does not generate anything live while you play.
