About This Game

The Citadel Must Hold is a base-building survival RTS where hero-led exploration, strategic fortification, and game-bending choices impact whether you fall or survive the siege.

Grow a settlement around the Citadel Heart by gathering resources, expanding production, training soldiers, and raising your defenses. Expanding is a choice that makes your citadel grow stronger...but remember that every new border brings more ground to protect.

Send your army into the fog-covered wilderness to explore dangerous biomes, gather resources, and conquer Places of Power. Defeat their guardians to stop raids and claim powerful rewards. Monsters can also be recruited - use them wisely and reshape the battlefield to turn the tide in your favor.

Between building, exploring, and expanding, you also have to balance defending your citadel from persistent raids and Tides. Command your units and defend critical chokepoints. Don't forget: Each Tide brings a greater threat, forcing you to adapt your defenses and fight to keep your Citadel standing.

Choose a Founding Oath at the start of each run to shape how you build and fight. After surviving each Monster Tide, select a Rally Decree to strengthen your forces, cover your weaknesses, or enhance your build. Mix and match these choices to create a unique strategy every run.
