About This Game

You cannot start over by pretending you came from nowhere.

Colombia, 1997.

After violence forces 16 year-old Leidy and her mother to leave their rural home, they arrive in Valledupar hoping to begin again.

For years, Leidy has imagined the city as a place where she could leave her past behind and become the person she wants to be. But the house she now shares with her family is filled with lives that began long before she arrived: relatives who remember what she never lived, objects carried through displacement, and unfinished stories about the father she never knew.

To move forward, Leidy must decide how closely she is willing to look.

Move through intimate, lived-in spaces and exteriors, discover a family history hidden in plain sight.

Interact with members of the Cantor family. Examine photographs, letters, drawings, clothing, tools and unfinished belongings. Compare what people remember with the traces left behind and connect fragments that no one has ever arranged into a complete story.

As Leidy learns more, ordinary objects can reveal the shape of an absence that was always there.

Turn, align, compare and assemble meaningful objects through tactile interactions.

You are not restoring an imagined perfect past. You are helping something live again while preserving the marks of what interrupted it.

Every reconstruction brings together different generations, skills and memories—and allows Leidy to decide what can continue, what must remain visible and what no one has the right to complete for those who are gone.

The spaces around Leidy respond to how she understands them.

Rooms can become warmer or colder. Familiar objects can feel distant, reveal what is missing or recover a new presence as Leidy confronts, avoids and reinterprets her family’s memories.

Some conversations and discoveries are mutually exclusive.

Choose whom to approach and which thread to follow. One path may reveal an intimate memory; another may uncover a material clue, a different perspective or an interaction that will no longer be available afterward.

The key events of Leidy’s story remain, but the information and emotional context you carry into them can change.

NO AI use and built by a fully human team, The Forgotten Ones is an ongoing commitment to handcrafted storytelling. Every asset, narrative thread, and design choice reflects the care, culture, and emotional truth of the people behind it — and it will continue to be developed that way.
