About This Game

You share a deck with the dealer

Wild Crazy 8s is a roguelike deckbuilder built on Crazy Eights. You and the dealer shed cards onto the same pile and draw from the same deck, so any card you buy can show up in either hand. Thinning your deck thins it for both of you. Enhanced cards only score when you play them yourself, which makes every purchase a bet on who draws it first.

Chain cards, declare suits

On your turn, play any card that matches the pile's suit or rank, or play an 8 and declare a new suit. You can chain as many playable cards as you hold, and each one scores (base chips + card value) × Boost. Your Combo rises with every chained card and carries over between turns; it resets when you stop to draw. Drawing costs you the Combo, but every card you pull raises your base chips for the rest of the round. You have a limited number of turns to reach the round's target score.

Spend your winnings in the Gift Shop

Each round pays out cash, and between rounds you spend it in the Gift Shop. House Rules are persistent scoring rules; they multiply each other, and you can hold up to five. Card packs add new cards to your deck, some carrying enhancements that pay extra chips, Boost, or cash when scored. Perks are permanent upgrades for the rest of the run, and Tricks & Boons are single-use cards you save for the right moment. Nothing in the shop wins by itself. You win by buying things that synergize, until your deck, rules, and perks are all pushing the same plan.

Nine floors to the Penthouse

A run climbs nine floors of the casino, from the Lobby to the Penthouse. Every floor ends in a boss fight with its own restriction on how you score, and finishing a run unlocks the next difficulty.
