What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Global Parity is an ambitious grand strategy game built by a small independent team, and its depth comes from many interlocking systems: economy, domestic politics, diplomacy and war. The best way to make those systems truly come alive is to see how real players use them. Early Access lets us balance the simulation against thousands of different playthroughs, find the strategies we never thought of, and shape the next big features together with the community instead of guessing in isolation.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Global Parity to stay in Early Access for roughly 12–18 months. This is an estimate rather than a promise: we would rather take a little longer than release a 1.0 that doesn’t meet the standard we and our players expect.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“War 2.0: distinct unit types (infantry, armor, artillery), organization and entrenchment, terrain that matters in combat, generals, visible battles on the front line, offensive orders and a peace conference where victory is turned into concrete demands.

A larger and richer world: more regions and smaller nations, natural resources tied to geography, and trade agreements between countries.

Deeper diplomacy and politics: an international organization with votes on sanctions and resolutions, intelligence services and covert operations, referendums and more dramatic elections.

Long-term progression: technologies of the 1999–2019 era and national programs that give every country its own path.

More content and polish: additional events and country-specific storylines, more languages, improved accessibility and Steam Deck support, and Steam achievements.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Choose one of 15 nations across two continents and play on three difficulty levels.

Run a detailed economy: 10 sectors, a world market, inflation and a central bank, taxes, budget and public debt.

Govern at home: a parliament with coalitions and votes, a cabinet of ministers, over 90 laws, elections, revolutions and interest groups.

Practice diplomacy: treaties, sanctions, opinions with visible reasons, and AI nations that make proposals, ask for help and issue ultimatums.

Wage war: armies on the map, a dynamic front line, occupation, infamy and coalitions against aggressors.

Face over 100 story events with meaningful choices, including country-specific storylines.

Pursue national ambitions with a final score and an S–D grade.

Live in a reactive world: AI nations build, rearm and fight, and you follow it all through a news feed and newspaper.

Explore a hand-styled map with terrain, rivers, cities and roads.

Save and load anytime, with autosaves, a tutorial and hints.

Play in English or Russian.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to raise the price gradually as major new content and features are added during Early Access, so players who join early and help shape the game get the best deal. Anyone who buys the game in Early Access will receive the full version and all its updates at no additional cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Steam discussions and our Discord server for bug reports, balance feedback and feature suggestions, which we read and respond to regularly.

Regular devlogs and patch notes explaining what changed and why.

Polls on upcoming priorities, so players can vote on what we build next.

Public test builds of major updates on a separate Steam branch before they reach everyone.

We also plan to make more of the game data-driven so players can tweak and eventually mod events, countries and balance.”

About This Game

Global Parity is a grand strategy game about running a country, inspired by SuperPower 2, Hearts of Iron IV and Geopolitical Simulator. Pick a nation in January 1999 and guide it for twenty years. Your economy, your parliament, your neighbours and your generals all push back.

Choose from 15 fictional nations across two continents, from a rich democracy to a debt-ridden autocracy or an agrarian republic with 30% unemployment. Each country has its own flag, leader, national spirit, storylines and starting challenges. Then choose a difficulty: Peaceful, Standard or Iron.

  • A living economy. Ten sectors, a world market with real supply and demand, inflation and a central bank, taxes, budgets and public debt. Build farms, mines and factories region by region.
  • Politics with consequences. Pass more than 90 laws through a parliament where coalitions can block you. Appoint ministers with real competence and keep interest groups on your side.
  • Elections and revolutions. Win your mandate at the ballot box, survive votes of no confidence, or crush the unrest that follows. See exactly what drives approval and stability.

  • AI nations act on their own. They build, rearm, sign treaties and go to war with each other, and they come to you with trade offers, calls for help, alliances and ultimatums.
  • Opinions have reasons. Countries remember who helped them and who refused. Every change in relations shows its cause.
  • 100+ story events with hard choices, including chains unique to each nation: IMF loans with strings attached, strike waves, scandals, disasters, coups.
  • A world that reports itself. A live news ticker, a quarterly newspaper and world rankings show you what is happening and where you stand.

  • A front line that breathes. Armies push the front inch by inch across a painted map of mountains, forests and rivers. Occupation, breakthroughs and counterattacks unfold in real time.
  • Battles you can read. Infantry, armor and artillery, generals with traits, organization, entrenchment, terrain and air superiority. Every modifier is shown.
  • Wars have a cost. Infamy, coalitions against aggressors, war exhaustion and unrest in annexed lands keep conquest from being free.
  • Win the peace. Turn your war score into territory, reparations, demilitarization or regime change at the peace conference.

Every nation starts with three national ambitions tailored to its problems: bring down unemployment, escape the debt trap, become the region's leading economy. Fulfil them all for victory, or rule until 2019 and receive a final score and a grade from S to D.
