Why Early Access?

“I chose Early Access because I want to build Beyond Horizon together with the community. While the core game is fully playable, I believe player feedback is essential for refining gameplay, balancing difficulty, fixing bugs, and deciding which new features and content should be prioritized.

As a solo developer, Early Access also allows me to continue expanding the game with regular updates while ensuring that new content is shaped by real player experiences. My goal is to deliver meaningful improvements throughout Early Access and create the best version of Beyond Horizon possible.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I expect Beyond Horizon to remain in Early Access for approximately one to two years. During that time, I plan to release major content updates on a quarterly basis, adding new stages, ships, bosses, features, and gameplay improvements. The exact schedule may change depending on development progress and player feedback, but my goal is to deliver meaningful updates throughout the Early Access period before the full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to expand on the Early Access experience with additional content, gameplay improvements, and new features based on community feedback.

Planned updates include:

* Additional stages and worlds to explore.
* New unlockable ships earned as Kuma's story unfolds.
* More boss encounters, including challenging multi-phase battles.
* Additional achievements and gameplay improvements.
* Performance optimizations, bug fixes, balancing, and controller enhancements.
* Planned support for features such as local co-op, Steam Deck, and 4K where feasible.

The exact scope, order, and timing of these additions may change as development progresses. My goal is to continue refining Beyond Horizon into a more polished and content-rich experience throughout Early Access.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is fully playable and includes the core gameplay experience. Players can access the main game, compete on online leaderboards, unlock achievements, and experience the game from start to finish.

While the foundation is complete, I plan to continue improving the game throughout Early Access by adding new content, features, quality-of-life improvements, performance optimizations, balancing, and bug fixes. Planned additions may include local co-op, Steam Deck support, 4K support, and other community-requested features as development progresses.

Early Access gives players the opportunity to provide feedback that will help shape the future of Beyond Horizon.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No. The price will never increase. We want everyone to be able to enjoy the game at the same affordable price, whether they purchase it during Early Access or after the full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will play an important role throughout Early Access. I plan to actively listen to player suggestions, bug reports, balance feedback, and feature requests through the Steam Community Hub and discussions.

I also plan to share regular development updates, roadmap progress, and patch notes so players can see how the game is evolving. While not every suggestion can be implemented, community feedback will help shape future updates and influence which improvements and features are prioritized during Early Access.”
