What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Ore Bastards is a game about freedom, discovery, and survival in an endless procedural universe. Since its core systems — mining, trading, combat, exploration, ship upgrades, NPC traffic, pirates, stations, and the economy — all interact with each other, Early Access is the best way to shape the game with real player feedback.

The main gameplay loop is already playable, but we want the community to help us balance progression, improve combat and exploration, expand points of interest, polish the interface, and make the universe feel even more alive.

Our goal is to grow Ore Bastards together with players and turn it into a richer, deeper, and more surprising space mining adventure.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Ore Bastards to be in Early Access for around 6 to 12 months.

The exact timeline may change based on player feedback, balancing needs, and the amount of new content added during development. We do not want to rush the full release; our goal is to leave Early Access when the game feels stable, polished, balanced, and rich enough to represent the full vision of Ore Bastards.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Ore Bastards includes the core gameplay loop: mining, trading, combat, exploration, ship upgrades, stations, pirates, missions, NPC activity, and procedural regions.

For the full version, we plan to expand the game with more content, improved balance, additional points of interest, more ships and equipment, deeper progression, and a more polished overall experience.

However, the game is currently in active development. During Early Access, we want to shape Ore Bastards together with the community. Player feedback may lead us to add new features, revise existing systems, rebalance progression, or remove ideas that do not improve the game.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Ore Bastards is currently a playable beta with the main gameplay loop already in place.

Players can mine resources, trade, fight pirates, upgrade ships, equip turrets, complete missions, explore procedural regions, visit stations, encounter NPC activity, and discover points of interest across an expanding universe.

The game is still in active development, so some features, balance, content, and systems may change during Early Access. Players may also encounter bugs, unfinished elements, or areas that need more polish.

Our goal during Early Access is to improve stability, balance, progression, combat, exploration, economy, performance, and overall variety with the help of community feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. Ore Bastards is planned to be priced lower during Early Access.

As we add more content, improve existing systems, polish the game, and move toward the full release, the price may increase. We want Early Access players to receive a better value for supporting the game during development.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to involve the community through the **Steam forums**, where players can share feedback, suggestions, bug reports, balance concerns, and ideas for future updates.

During Early Access, we want to actively listen to the community and use player feedback to improve progression, combat, exploration, economy, interface polish, performance, missions, points of interest, ships, equipment, and the overall feel of the universe.

While we may not be able to implement every suggestion, we want players to have a meaningful role in shaping Ore Bastards as it grows toward the full release.

About This Game

Explore an endless procedural universe where every journey can lead to a new discovery, a new danger, or a new opportunity.

Mine valuable resources, trade across distant regions, fight ruthless pirates, uncover forgotten locations, and build your own space stations among the stars. Upgrade your ship, expand your influence, and choose your own path through a game built around exploration, commerce, combat, and survival.

Ore Bastards is designed as a living universe rather than a fixed sequence of missions. Stations develop their own economies, with prices, supplies, and demand changing according to the traffic, trade, and activity around them.

Miners travel between asteroid fields and trading hubs, merchants move goods across regions, and intelligent NPCs pursue their own goals. Pirates search for vulnerable targets—sometimes attacking directly, sometimes waiting in ambush, and sometimes luring careless captains into carefully prepared traps.

The universe continues to move around you, creating new opportunities, dangers, and unexpected encounters wherever you travel.

Ships, equipment, weapons, internal systems, and loot are procedurally generated, creating an effectively endless variety of builds and discoveries.

Every new ship can offer a different combination of hardpoints, cargo capacity, armor, speed, energy systems, and internal modules. Every weapon or piece of equipment can open new tactical possibilities, encouraging you to experiment, adapt, and develop a ship that reflects your own strategy.

No two expeditions need to play the same way. You may become a heavily armed pirate hunter, an efficient industrial miner, a wandering trader, an explorer searching for forgotten secrets—or something between them all.

As you travel deeper into the galaxy, you may discover rich mining fields, abandoned wrecks, hidden pirate caches, mysterious signals, derelict vessels, and locations shaped by events that happened long before you arrived.

Some discoveries may offer profit. Others may lead to danger—or reveal another trail worth following.

Build your own space stations, establish new centers of trade, defend your territory, and watch the surrounding economy respond to the world you help create.

There is no single path, no final frontier, and no last adventure.

In Ore Bastards, there is always another region to explore, another ship to discover, another fortune to claim, and another threat waiting in the dark.
