About This Game

Alumbra is a surreal adventure Metroidvania where you play as Vince, a child trapped in a massive nightmare. Armed with nothing but a lantern, Vince must use its light to find his way through a strange and hostile world born from his fears, memories, and imagination. Explore haunting dreamscapes, uncover their secrets, and face the creatures lurking in the darkness as you search for a way to wake up.

A NIGHTMARE BORN FROM FEAR

The Nightmare feeds on vulnerable minds, lurking in the darkness. It takes shape within its victims' minds as a world built from fear. Trapped inside it, Vince must navigate surreal environments where his memories, imagination, and fears blend together and come to life. Each area hides new dangers, strange characters, and secrets that slowly reveal the nature of the Nightmare and the depths of Vince's subconscious.

Darkness hides dangers, but it also hides secrets.

Vince's lantern is the most important tool for survival. Switch between different light states to explore, reveal hidden paths, uncover secrets, solve puzzles, and repel threats. Learn to manage your light and unlock new abilities that transform the way Vince moves and fights. Combine these abilities with Echoes, passive powers inspired by his memories and imagination, and discover new ways to explore and face the dangers ahead.
