What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Horizon Idle is a deeply systems-driven idle RPG, and economies like this are tuned best with real players. The core loops — gathering, crafting, research, loadout-driven auto-battler combat, and the Warp-Core prestige — are all in and playable, but long-term pacing and balance benefit enormously from a community playing at a scale we can't simulate alone. Early Access lets us tune the curve, prioritize the next systems, and grow the content alongside the people who'll play it for hundreds of hours.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We're planning roughly 3–6 months, covering the remaining content systems (more combat zones and the New Game+ loop) and a full balance pass across the prestige climb before 1.0.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version goes wider and deeper, not in a different direction: more combat sectors and bosses with unique mechanics, the Sector Map expedition mode, anomaly contracts, an expanded Warp Mastery tree, the New Game+ escalation loop, UX polish pass. The skilling → crafting → combat → prestige spine stays the same.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is playable start-to-prestige today: level skills toward 100 across gathering and processing, climb the research tree, build always-on infrastructure, design ships with a full module loadout, fight through ten combat zones plus the endgame "Threshold," run missions, quests and bounties, and perform your first Warp-Core prestige with persistent meta-progression. Offline progress and versioned saves work. Still in progress: economy balancing, additional endgame content, and UI polish.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We expect to raise the price modestly as major content lands and we reach 1.0, so buying in Early Access will be the best value. It's a one-time premium purchase — no in-app purchases and no pay-to-progress.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We'll develop in the open with a public roadmap and regular balance/content patches, and a Steam + Reddit feedback loop where players flag dominated builds, economy snags and pacing issues. Because this is a numbers-driven idle game, player data directly shapes the tuning .”

About This Game

HORIZON IDLE

Strand a lone ship at the edge of charted space and turn it into a self-running industrial empire. Horizon Idle is a space-themed skilling & crafting idle RPG: commit to one task, automate the rest, and watch the numbers climb — online or off.

Commit to the Grind, One Task at a Time
This isn't a clicker. Choose a single focus — mine raw elements, refine them into advanced materials, research new tech, or send your ship into combat — and every tick earns resources and skill XP. Level each skill from 1 to 100 along a deep, satisfying XP curve, unlocking better actions, recipes, and gear at every milestone. The real game is the decision: what's the best use of your next hour?

Automate Everything
While you focus on the active grind, your infrastructure never sleeps. Build always-on production facilities, run background bounty contracts, and overclock your factories for exponential output. Walk away and come back to a fat offline-progress report — your empire keeps earning while you're gone.

Build the Perfect Ship
Salvage modules from ten escalating combat sectors and engineer the ultimate loadout — kinetic, energy, missile, shield, and the signature Cryo armaments. Combat is a pure auto-battler: no twitch reflexes, every fight is won or lost in the loadout designer before you engage. Hunt zone bosses for rare and unique drops that rewrite your build.

Warp, Reset, Ascend
Cross the threshold and trigger the Warp Core: a prestige reset that trades your progress for permanent Exotic Matter and Warp Shards. Spend them in a branching Mastery Tree, keep your research forever, and return faster and stronger every loop. The first warp is hours away — mastering the full tree is a journey of days.
