Turn Your Brother’s Words into Magic and Transform Him into Food

SUBLIMEAL is a wordplay roguelike adventure in which you chant your brother’s dialogue, uncover words related to desire, and turn them into magic to advance his transformation.
Otto’s body has begun to rot because of a demonic curse. An “expiration date” is branded onto him, marking the day when a demon will devour him alive.
His older sister Anne believes she has found a way to save him. She plans to transform Otto into food and offer him to God before the demon can eat him.
Otto wants to remain human and refuses to become a meal. Anne sincerely believes that cooking him is the only way to save him, so she continues with her plan while dismissing his objections.

Chant the Words Hidden in Otto’s Dialogue

Chant Otto’s lines and search them for words related to desire.
Otto raises serious objections to Anne’s plan, but his dialogue contains concrete words associated with food, bodies, animals, tools, filth, and other subjects.
Each word you uncover is converted into magic and stored in Anne’s magic knife. The amount of magic you gather depends on which lines you chant and which words you discover.
Find the right words within each conversation and gather the magic required for Otto’s next transformation.

Store Enough Magic and Swing the Knife

Once you have gathered enough magic, you can swing the magic knife.
A blade of light passes through Otto and transforms him into the next stage.
Human → Cow → Meat → A Finished Dish
Find words in his dialogue, convert them into magic, and swing the knife to continue his transformation.
If the conversation ends before you gather enough magic, Otto escapes and the game ends in failure.

Offer Him to God Before the Demon Devours Him

Anne believes that transforming Otto into food and offering him to God will free him from the demon’s curse.
Otto disagrees. Even if God could eat him without causing pain, he refuses to accept that losing his humanity is a form of salvation. He wants to decide for himself how to spend the time he has left.
Anne wants to save her brother, while Otto wants to remain human. Their arguments never quite connect.
Uncover the words of desire hidden in Otto’s objections and transform him into a finished dish. Your final goal is to offer your brother to God before the demon devours him.
