Why Early Access?

“REFORI is a mystery adventure that branches into different perspectives and routes for each character, with the story expanding based on your choices. Given this structure, completing the story one route at a time felt like the right approach. Early Access lets us release routes progressively while shaping each route's mystery, branching, and staging around player feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We're aiming for roughly 3 to 4 years in Early Access. Our benchmark for the full release is having every character's individual route in place, and we plan to add routes gradually over that period. The exact duration may vary depending on development progress and the scope of the content.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“During Early Access, we plan to expand the game with additional character routes over time. The full version aims to be a complete, self-contained story that includes all planned character routes. Along the way, we also plan to refine quality-of-life features and overall polish.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently, four character routes are playable, and the core systems — deduction, clue collection, and choice-driven branching of perspective and story — are in place. We plan to keep adding routes throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. As new routes and content are added during Early Access, we plan to raise the price gradually.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We'd like to gather player feedback through the Steam Community, discussion boards, and reviews. In particular, we plan to reflect opinions on each route's mystery, branching, and staging into future route development and improvements to the game.”

Let's start with where you're headed, shall we?

The place you'll be staying is a country called the Democratic Republic of Sateyna.

I wouldn't really know myself, but the way that child tells it, life there won't be easy…

And yet, that child was so set on bringing you along that I could hardly refuse.

What will you do there, you ask?

Well. You'll go through a great deal, as everyone does. Including the things you'd rather not.

For the most part, you'll have two choices.

To uncover the truth, or simply look the other way.

Are you any good at deduction? Ah, but of course, you won't know until you've tried.

If deduction is your gift, then one day you may reach the place where I am.

And if not… then perhaps someone will find their way to your side, instead.

Well then, one last thing.

Wherever you end up…

may fortune be kind to you.

ABOUT THIS GAME

REFORI is a narrative mystery adventure told through 3D pixel art.

Watch the story unfold, explore each location, and gather clues by talking with the people you meet.

These clues lead you to the truth — but your choices and deductions will change the lens through which the story is seen.

DEDUCTION SYSTEM

In REFORI, you investigate by talking things through with characters in real time.

Type out your deductions freely, and each character will respond based on their own perspective and knowledge.

MULTIPLE PERSPECTIVES, ONE CONNECTED STORY

Your choices shift the point of view — revisiting the same incident through another character's eyes, or following an entirely separate thread.

The investigation spans multiple chapters, and carefully reading the story is essential to your progress.

The current build offers roughly 20 hours of playtime, which will grow as new chapters are added.

Please note: this is a text-heavy, story-driven game. If that's not what you're looking for, this may not be the game for you.

REFORI uses generative AI in its deduction system. The AI is not an external service (API) it runs locally on our own server.
When you type your reasoning into the input field, the AI generates the characters' responses in real time. This system is designed to give you more freedom in how you deduce, for a fresh kind of experience. No AI is used anywhere else in REFORI — the illustrations, music, sound, modeling, and scenario are all made without it.
We also have safeguards in place to keep the AI's responses within the bounds of the game's story and characters, and to prevent inappropriate output.

REFORI is a narrative mystery game that contains mature content which may not be suitable for all ages.
Corpses appear in the game, along with realistic forensic depictions such as livor mortis, bloodstains, wounds, and causes of death, which the player examines as clues.
The game also features sensitive themes including assault, torture, profanity, murder, suicide, gambling, drug use and trafficking, sexual violence, domestic violence, and school bullying.
It contains no erotic or pornographic content. Sexual violence is depicted only minimally and strictly as a crime, and no sexual depiction involving minors appears in any form.
