What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“During the demo, we received a great deal of valuable player feedback on the game’s core features. We’d also like to hear your thoughts on the more advanced systems and features that were not available in the demo. To make sure we develop the game responsibly and with our players in mind, we’ve decided to launch the game in Early Access.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“3–6 months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full release is planned to expand on the Early Access version without changing the core airline-management loop. During Early Access, we plan to add more starting scenarios and airline-management events, deepen long-term company progression and rival-airline AI, expand the content and customization options available in Sandbox Mode and Workshop mods, and continue improving Steam multiplayer, game balance, onboarding, interface usability, performance, stability, and in-game localization.

These plans may change in response to player feedback. The core systems described in the “About This Game” section are already playable in Early Access. The remaining development work will focus on adding further depth, content, and polish for the full release.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently, the Early Access version of the game can be played in single-player Standard Mode and Sandbox Mode. It also includes room-based Steam multiplayer and Steam Workshop/mod functionality.

The core airline-management features described in the “About This Game” section are implemented and playable. Players can choose their headquarters and starting strategy, purchase or lease new and used aircraft, create routes, and configure schedules, fares, service levels, catering, cabin layouts, and flight frequencies.

Players must also manage staff, aircraft maintenance, fuel, airport slots, finances, debt, reputation, and AI-controlled competitors. Over time, they can expand from a regional airline into a worldwide, multi-airport network.

In contrast to the Demo, the Early Access version has no fixed limit on play duration. The Demo caps of 8 active routes, 10 aircraft, and 2 operating airports have been removed. Compatible saved games created in the Demo can be continued in the Early Access version. Sandbox Mode offers customizable starting conditions, rules, fleets, events, and goals. Steam multiplayer supports rooms for 2 to 8 players, while Workshop/mod tools support player-created content.

Being an Early Access release, the game may still contain bugs, and its balance, interface, multiplayer, performance, and modding features will continue to be improved.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Purchasing during Early Access gives you a lower price. The price will increase when the full version is released.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will build an online community for players, and we also welcome your feedback through Steam Discussions, announcement comments, reviews, and other channels.

About This Game

Airline Founder is a data-driven single-player airline management simulation. Begin with scenarios such as Tokyo, Singapore, or Paris, choose your strategy, and build an airline around full-service operations, low-cost scale, regional networks, or long-haul premium routes.

Study the world map, compare city demand, airport capacity, runway limits, slot pressure, and real outbound route records. Decide where to fly, which aircraft to assign, how often to operate, and whether your passengers will pay for lower fares, better service, or a more premium cabin.

Running an airline is more than opening routes. Purchase or lease aircraft, search the used market for affordable capacity, maintain fleet health, reconfigure cabins, manage catering, expand into new airports, and develop hub-and-spoke operations while keeping cash, debt, profit, and reputation under control.

The market keeps moving. Fuel shocks, regional travel booms, airport fee changes, maintenance directives, and demand downturns can all reshape your plans. Passengers, spotters, employees, and investors react through a virtual social media system, discussing your fares, punctuality, connections, and safety record. Build a stable business, prepare for an IPO, and watch your share price respond to revenue, profit, leverage, reputation, and major events.

Key Features

  • A global airport, city, and route network built from public data sources

  • Around 8,000 airports, 7,560 cities, and 36,000+ seed routes
