Why Early Access?

“The Last Question is built around AI character interaction and detective reasoning. We want players to experience the current playable cases, dialogue system, clue organization, and timed exploration before the full release.

Because the experience depends heavily on how real players ask questions, investigate, and reason through cases, Early Access will help us improve case pacing, AI character responses, clue guidance, UI interaction, and content balance.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Early Access to last around 6 to 12 months. The exact duration may change based on player feedback, content development, and system improvements. Our goal is to leave Early Access once the core gameplay, case content, stability, and overall experience reach our full release standard.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to include more original official cases, more case types, a more complete investigation flow, and richer character interactions.

We also plan to add a custom case creation feature. Players will be able to design their own case settings, characters, clues, and reasoning paths, then publish their completed cases to the in-game community for other players to experience, discuss, and provide feedback.

The full version will also continue improving AI dialogue quality, clue and timeline systems, timed map exploration, task guidance, ending judgment, UI presentation, and overall stability.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version already includes playable core content. Players can enter cases, question characters, investigate clues, organize testimony and timelines, and use reasoning to progress through cases. Some cases also include timed map exploration, item collection, NPC schedules, and ending judgment.

The game is still in active development, and some content, UI, balance, and AI response quality may continue to change and improve.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“During Early Access, the game will be sold at a lower price than the full release version. When the full version is released, the price will increase.

This price increase will reflect the addition of more official cases, expanded gameplay systems, custom case creation features, community publishing features, and improvements to overall stability, UI presentation, and content completeness. We will notify players in advance through Steam announcements before the price change.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will actively follow Steam community discussions, reviews, and player feedback. Feedback on case experience, AI dialogue, clue design, difficulty, UI, and stability will help guide our development priorities.

Player feedback will help us improve clue guidance, adjust reasoning difficulty, fix issues, refine character responses, and plan new cases and gameplay features.”

The Last Question is an AI-powered detective mystery game built around open-ended investigation and free-form questioning.

Enter carefully designed cases, interrogate suspects, investigate locations, collect clues, organize timelines, and uncover the truth through your own reasoning.

Cases are not simple multiple-choice puzzles. Characters respond according to their identities, motives, memories, and secrets. You can ask freely, follow up on suspicious details, confront contradictions, and use evidence to pressure key characters.

The game features multiple case formats, including interrogation-based mysteries, timed exploration, item collection, NPC schedules, evidence tracking, and ending judgment. Some cases may progress under time pressure, requiring you to decide where to go, who to trust, and which clues truly matter.

The Last Question focuses on the process of thinking like a detective. Clues will not always give direct answers, and testimony may not always be reliable. You must connect relationships, motives, time, location, evidence, and unusual behavior to reach your own conclusion.
