What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“StoryForge gets better the more it's read. The system that shapes each saga learns over time, and reader feedback steers what we build next. Early Access lets us bring readers in now, while that loop is most valuable, so the people reading help shape the experience rather than receiving a closed, finished box. We would rather build StoryForge with its readers than hand them something fixed.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to be in Early Access for roughly six to twelve months, though we will let the experience and reader feedback set the pace rather than a fixed deadline. We will move to full release once the PC experience feels complete and the features we are building are steady in readers' hands.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to deepen the PC experience over Early Access. That includes narration so you can listen to your saga while doing other things, a richer journal for tracking the people, places, and threads in your story, more genres and settings to begin a saga in, and ongoing improvements to prose and pacing as the system keeps learning. The core experience, creating a protagonist and reading a personalized, remembered saga, is here now. Early Access is about deepening it.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core experience is fully playable today. You create a protagonist, begin a saga in your chosen genre, make the choices that shape it, talk to the characters you meet, and read it unfold episode by episode in genuine literary prose, in a world that remembers what you do. StoryForge has been running and read by an active community, so what you are stepping into is a working, polished experience rather than a prototype. Early Access is about expanding the PC client and the features around that core, not building the core itself.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“StoryForge is free to download. The full experience runs on a subscription, and we do not plan to change that pricing when we leave Early Access. As we add features the value grows, and the price holds.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Reader feedback already drives StoryForge directly. Readers send feedback in the app, and it shapes what we fix and build next, the journal, the pacing, the prose, and the genres we offer have all moved in response to what readers told us. Through Early Access we will keep that loop front and center: reading the feedback, sharing what is coming, and letting the people reading their sagas steer where it goes. The system itself also learns from real reading, so the community shapes StoryForge twice over, through what they tell us and through what they read.”

About This Game

StoryForge is a serialized novel with you at the center of it. You create a protagonist, step into a living world, and read a saga written around the character you made and the choices you make. Each episode arrives like the next chapter of a book that exists only for you.

  • A story that actually remembers The people you meet, the threads you follow, the decisions you make, they stay. StoryForge holds continuity the way a careful novelist does, so characters don't forget who they are and the plot doesn't quietly contradict itself. The longer your saga runs, the more it knows you.

  • Talk to the people you meet The characters in your saga aren't set dressing. Pull any of them aside and have a real conversation, ask what they know, press them, or simply get to know them. What passes between you carries back into the story and is remembered, so the people in your world feel like people.

  • Prose worth reading This isn't generated filler. StoryForge is built to write real, literary prose, the kind you'd actually want to sit and read, with a voice closer to a published novel than a chat window.

  • Your choices shape the story You aren't picking from a menu of outcomes. You guide your protagonist, and the saga bends around what you do, moving toward payoffs you earned rather than ones it handed you.

  • Read it, or listen to it Read at your own pace, episode by episode. Or turn on narration and let your saga play while you do something else, your adventure running quietly in the background of your day.

  • Choose your world Step into medieval fantasy adventure or a romance saga, each written to what readers of that genre actually want.

  • Yours, and private Your saga is yours. The app reads it so it can remember it. No one else does. Your story stays private to you.

Create a character. Make the first choice. See where your story goes.

A note from the developer
StoryForge is built and run by one person. That means there's no committee between your feedback and what happens next: I read what readers tell me, and I act on it. I'm not here for a launch spike, I'm here to keep building this for years. If something doesn't land, tell me. I'm listening.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

StoryForge generates its story content using generative AI. The prose of each saga, the characters you meet, and the way the story responds to your choices are generated by a large language model as you read. Content is generated within safety guardrails designed to keep it within the literary fiction StoryForge is built to deliver.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

StoryForge is a text-based narrative experience, and its content is generated as you read, so what appears depends on the genre you choose and the choices you make.
Adventure sagas contain fantasy violence and peril, including combat and descriptions of injury or death told in prose. Romance sagas contain romantic and non-explicit sexual themes; intimacy may be implied but is never depicted explicitly. Content across genres may include mild language and references to alcohol in keeping with its settings.
StoryForge does not contain explicit sexual content, graphic gore, depictions of sexual assault or non-consensual situations, self-harm, or substance abuse as subject matter. Story generation runs within safety guardrails designed to keep content within the bounds of literary fiction.
