Why Early Access?

“Jacob's Islands is already playable, but many planned features, biomes, interactions, and gameplay systems are still under active development. Early Access allows us to gather player feedback and improve the game while expanding its content and mechanics.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I currently expect Jacob's Islands to remain in Early Access for approximately 24 to 36 months, depending on development progress.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to expand the islands, add more biomes, mobs, and gameplay mechanics. I also plan to improve performance if needed, and overall fix the gameplay based on player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is currently playable and includes islands exploration, collect of cassette, Secrets to find, premise of the in-game island editor. ”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will be cheaper during Early Access and will return to its original price when the official Version 1 of the game is released.”

“Community involvement will be driven by the community itself, particularly through the Discord server, which will be open to feedback.”

About the gameplay

  • Precision platforming: if you like precise and dynamic movement, this is definitely for you.

  • Speedrun leaderboard: if you enjoy being the fastest and challenging your friends, you'll feel right at home.

  • Level creation: if you're all about creating content, make and share your own levels using the in-game editor!

  • Secrets: if you enjoy hunting for secrets, you'll be rewarded :)

  • Cassette collection: an interesting aspect of the game is collecting the many cassettes scattered across the islands. Will you find them all?

About the development

Hello, I'm the person behind Jacob's Islands.

At 16 years old, I started trying to make one of my dreams come true: creating my first video game! My golden art rule  was to do everything by myself. I started the Jacob's Islands project about two years ago, and now, at 20 years old, I'm almost there!

I hope you'll enjoy it when it releases in Early Access.
