What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Pinpongle is already fully playable, but I want to involve players while I refine the balance, pacing, items, bosses, difficulty curve, and overall game feel. Early Access gives me the chance to gather feedback from real runs, different playstyles, and a wider range of hardware before the full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I currently expect Pinpongle to remain in Early Access for several months, depending on player feedback and how much iteration is needed on balance, content, and polish.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to include more polish, improved balancing, additional content, and refinements based on community feedback. This may include adjustments to items, bosses, progression, difficulty options, user interface, audio, visual effects, and overall run variety. My goal is to make the final version feel more complete, stable, and replayable than the Early Access version.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version is playable and includes the core roguelite Pong gameplay loop, runs, items, bosses, progression, settings, localization, high scores, controller support, and visual/audio presentation. Players can start and complete runs, unlock content, and experience the main structure of the game. Some content, balance, polish, and quality-of-life features may still change during development.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will not increase after Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan to use player feedback to guide balancing, bug fixing, difficulty tuning, usability improvements, and content priorities. I made a Discord server where players can share feedback, report bugs, suggest ideas, and discuss the game directly with me. Feedback from Discord, Steam discussions, reviews, and bug reports will help me understand which parts of the game feel strong, confusing, too easy, too difficult, or worth expanding further.”

About This Game

It started as plain ping pong. Simple, classic, and a little grey.

Then came color, a real soundtrack, and a full roguelike run. In Pinpongle, you win matches, earn gold, and spend it in the shop. Buy items, reroll offers, heal up, and stack effects until your build gets wild.

Each run plays differently. You choose your path through normal opponents, elite challenges, shops, treasures, and boss fights. With limited lives and rising difficulty, every decision matters.

Items can change the way you play. Speed up your paddle, freeze the ball, slow down the enemy, preview trajectories, create fake balls, bend time, or turn simple rallies into controlled chaos.

And waiting at the end of a sector is a boss that rewrites the rules. Spikes, tunnels, portals, gravity wells, moving walls, and other field effects turn classic Pong into a fast arcade duel.

Pinpongle launches in Early Access, so expect plenty more updates and fixes.
