Why Early Access?

“I would like the community to be involved with shaping this game. Using the dice as player attributes is a new idea as far as I know and I would like the community to help make this game fun and challenging but not so challenging that it is not fun. This requires careful balance and a lot of feedback from experienced and interested players. ”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“2 to 3 months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to have 50 total levels in the full game. In the full game I plan to add 100 total pieces of gear, 100 different types of dice, dozens of consumable items, and 100 different enemies or bosses in 10 different environments (tile sets). The enemies, gear and dice will have special attributes and effects to add complexity to the battles. I also might add additional room types.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“There is a playable demo ready of level 1 to 5 with 5 enemies, 5 bosses, 10 pieces of gear, some items, and multiple dice. Players can battle enemies and explore all of the room types (shop, secret room, treasure) that will be available in the full game. ”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The demo game will be free during early access and then the game will cost full price upon release of the full game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I will publish Development Logs and interact with the community on the dedicated Max Diceman Discord server as I add new content or features and then hopefully the community will provide feedback in the same Discord forum. I plan on this being an iterative process so I can release new content and features based on community feedback. I am looking forward to involving the community in adjusting the playability and difficulty of the game as this new concept using dice as player attributes could use some fine tuning. ”
