What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Cookiesaner already has its heart: the Stomach mechanic, BELLY BOUNCE, the Balkan world, and a core run that's fun start to finish. Early Access lets players shape what comes next: which biomes, bosses, foods and builds make the cut. A bullet heaven lives or dies on feel, and the fastest way to nail the feel is to tune it alongside the people actually playing it.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Roughly 6-12 months, depending on how fast the content roadmap comes together. The goal is to leave Early Access late and right, not early and thin.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to make the full version grow the world: more Balkan biomes, more bosses, a deeper food roster, more Pre-Run Plate cards and build paths, food/weapon evolutions, more unlockable characters/modes and a daily-seed leaderboard. The core loop stays the same; the content and depth around it expand.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“A complete, playable bullet-heaven loop: the full Stomach mechanic, the BELLY BOUNCE defence, Pre-Run Plate builds, two Balkan biomes, a mini-boss and a boss fight, and an original soundtrack. Runs are satisfying right now - Early Access is about adding depth and variety on top.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The Early Access price reflects the current content. As the game grows toward 1.0 the price may rise, so wishlisting now is the best way to get in early.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through the Steam Community forums and direct player feedback. Solo development means a short distance between "players want this" and "this is in the next build."”

About This Game

DEMO COMING AT STEAM NEXT FEST — OCTOBER 2026. Wishlist to get notified.

She's a real dog. She's hungry. The whole čaršija is in trouble.

Meet Cookie — a real apricot maltipoo with one rule: every scrap of Balkan food on the street belongs to her. Cookiesaner is a bullet-heaven where Cookie auto-fires grilled ćevapi into an endless horde, and every bite she steals makes her bigger. The bigger she gets, the harder she hits, the slower she moves — and the closer she gets to rolling over the whole street.

Meet the real Cookie — a small, puffy apricot maltipoo who eats like it's her full-time job. The chonk armour is the fantasy. The appetite is 100% real.

Eat your way to GOD MODE

Your stomach is the engine. Snatch baklava, burek, bosanska kahva and hurmašice off the ground and Cookie chonks up through five belly stages — each one changing how she fights. Fill the belly all the way and you hit STAGE 4: GOD MODE: a giant Cookie barrels straight through the swarm, flattening everything in her path. It is exactly as ridiculous as it sounds — and it costs you on the way out, so you have to choose your moment. How chonky do you dare to get?

Weapons are food

Cookie doesn't carry a gun — she carries lunch. Build a loadout out of the Balkan kitchen: a somun that boomerangs back to her, orbiting sarma cabbages that grind anything they touch, an ajvar nova that erupts on contact, tufahija and lokum shields that soak a hit. A whole deck of build cards, drawn a few at a time, so no two runs stack the same — and every card changes how Cookie plays, not just her damage number.

Choose your run before it starts

Pick a Pre-Run Plate and commit to a style before the first enemy spawns:

  • Sharp Teeth — hit harder all run (aggression)

  • Big Heart — start with extra health (tank)

  • Keen Nose — pull food in from further away (collector)

Same Cookie. A different run every time.

A real Balkan world — and the showdowns that own it

Cookie raids from the autumn leaves of Ljubljana's Tivoli park into Sarajevo's Baščaršija, slipping past street cats, furious waiters and rival dogs. Three showdowns stand between her and the streets — a mini-boss and two bosses:

  • Šinter — the dog-catcher, net in hand, who wants her off his pavement

  • Šef Kelner — the head waiter guarding his kitchen, who only gets angrier the longer you last

  • Pas Alpha — the alpha street-dog, who lunges and howls the whole pack down on you

Beat Pas Alpha and the demo ends on a promise: Leon is still out there. (Leon is Cookie's brother. He was taken. That's the whole reason she's fighting.)

Sevdah on the soundtrack

Every other survivors-like runs on the same synth. Cookiesaner runs on sevdah — Balkan folk that turns a screen full of chaos into something that feels like home. Comedy on top, a little heart underneath.

Made by one person

No team, no publisher, no funding — one solo developer, a love of bullet-heavens, and the food he grew up on. Cookie is real. Everything else is built around her.

What you get

  • A complete, replayable bullet-heaven run — eat, grow, sweep the horde, fight three bosses

  • The five-stage Stomach, climaxing in STAGE 4: GOD MODE

  • A Balkan-food arsenal of build cards, drawn fresh each run

  • Pre-Run Plate builds that reshape a run before it begins

  • Two biomes — Tivoli to Sarajevo's Baščaršija — with more on the Early Access roadmap

  • Three boss showdowns, with more bosses planned in Early Access

  • Three difficulty modes that change which build wins, not just enemy health

  • Steam Achievements

  • An original sevdah-influenced soundtrack

  • Playing in English, Slovenian, Bosnian, Croatian & Serbian (Russian on the roadmap)

Cookiesaner is heading into Early Access, and the playable demo goes live for the October Steam Next Fest. Wishlist it now and Steam will tell you the moment Cookie's off the leash — and help her find a home on the front page when the Fest opens. One solo dev, one real dog, the whole Balkans. Come get chonky.
