What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I'm a solo developer, and I want to build Paystreak together with its community. Early Access lets me gather feedback on balance, the economy, and the mechanics already in the game, hear what players want from future updates, and shape the game around how people actually play it. I'll be involving players mainly through Discord and steam community hub, but also other social channels, including running votes on what to work on next.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Roughly around 12 months. As a solo developer, this is an estimate rather than a fixed date - the timeline may shift depending on community feedback and how much ends up being added along the way.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The plan is to keep expanding the game based on player feedback. Current ideas and directions include adding more tiers of wash plants, new vehicles, and additional claims to rent or buy. I'm also exploring ideas like resources beyond gold, even though nothing there is finalized yet. Alongside new content, a big focus will be optimization and polish. Plans may change as the game develops and the community weighs in, that's part of the point of Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The full gameplay loop is already playable, from panning in the river and digging by hand with a shovel, through smaller machines, all the way up to the largest equipment digging the real paydirt. The game is fully playable in its current state, with new features and optimizations on the way.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, i plan to increase the price when the game leaves Early Access and reaches its 1.0 release. This means players who join during Early Access get the game at a lower price while helping shape its development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“My main channels for community involvement will be Discord and the Steam community hub, though I'll be active on other social platforms as well. I want to stay in close contact with players to gather feedback and hear their ideas. When it comes to new content, I'll sometimes run votes to let the community help decide what I work on next.”

About This Game

Paystreak is a gold mining tycoon about building a real operation from nothing: hire a crew, dig the dirt, wash it down, and pan the concentrate into pure gold, then invest your profits to build your mining empire.

The old claim

You've inherited a gold claim from your late uncle, a creek he never got to work. The ground is rich, he just ran out of seasons. Now it's yours, and his old friend Errol is here to help you get started.

Start by hand in the river: upgrade from a pan to a shovel and wash your first dirt in the plant. Earn enough and the whole operation shifts gears:

  • 10+ machines: bulldozers, loaders, excavators, dump trucks, drill rig, water pumps and multi-tier wash plants.

  • Rent or buy: rent cheap to get started, or save up to buy outright and cut long-term costs. Every choice hits your books.

  • Build your site: place machines, wash plants, fuel tanks and housing freely across your claim, no grid-lock placement.

Run the whole business

Gold is only half the game. Good management is key to keeping the operation alive.

  • Crews: the mine won't run by itself, hire different types of workers, each one vital to keeping the operation running.

  • Fuel: machines burn diesel, order deliveries in time to make sure you never run dry.

  • Breakdowns: machines will break down eventually. Stock spare parts and keep mechanics on hand, or watch production grind to a halt.

  • The bank: take a loan to scale fast, but the monthly payments come due whether the gold flows or not.

Dig smart, sell smarter

  • Prospect first: survey the ground before you commit, and chase the rich pay streaks buried deep below the surface.

  • Permafrost: only the heaviest machines can break it, but the deepest and richest pay streaks can be found down there.

  • Time the market: the gold price rises and falls. Stockpile, watch the chart, and sell at the peak. But don't stockpile so long that a crash leaves you unable to pay your bills.

Beat the season and the competition

You get eight months each year use them well. When winter closes in and the ground freezes solid, the dig stops, but the bills don't.

  • Climb the leaderboard: You start from nothing while the established companies are already deep in the gold. Chase them down on the season leaderboard and prove the new new guy can outearn them all.

  • Know your numbers: detailed expense breakdowns, a live gold-price chart, and season-by-season stats show you exactly where every dollar goes.
