About This Game

SYSTEM INFILTRATION INITIATED

Step into the mainframe. Firewall Maze is a grid-based tactical logic puzzle game that fuses classic mind-bending puzzle mechanics with a dark, neon-drenched cyberpunk atmosphere. In this digital labyrinth, your logic is your sharpest weapon, and every single move counts.

As a rogue infiltration drone, you must breach highly secured networks by navigating complex subnets, disabling security protocols, and reaching the exit node before the system trace locks onto your position.

CORE NETWORKING MECHANICS

The grid is an active security matrix filled with interactive nodes and hazards. To bypass a subnet, you must master the network topography and use the environment to your advantage:

  • Standard Tiles: Your baseline navigation path across the data grid.

  • Collectible Nodes & Exits: Secure all floating data packets scattered across the grid to authorize system decryption. The Exit node remains strictly locked until every single collectible on the map is cleared.

  • Key & Trapwall Logic: Step on a Key tile to dynamically alter the system architecture. Triggering a key instantly toggles the status of Trapwalls, flipping them between solid barriers and open pathways, fundamentally rewriting the maze layout with a single step.

  • Toxic Stun Tiles: Hazardous nodes that temporarily overload internal systems. Any entity—whether it is your drone or a hostile virus—that steps onto a Toxic tile is instantly paralyzed and forced to skip their next turn.

  • Death Tiles: Lethal, corrupted grid sectors that trigger immediate connection termination (Game Over) if you step on them. Beware: hostile viruses are completely immune to this corruption and will freely cross Death tiles to corner you.

  • Teleport Relays: Advanced data conduits that warp your drone across the board, instantly shifting your coordinate positioning for tactical escapes or flanking maneuvers.

THREAT DETECTION: ENEMY VIRUSES

You are not alone in the mainframe. Automated security counter-measures patrol the grid, responding dynamically to your intrusion with distinct, predictable logic that you must learn to manipulate:

  • Entropy-1 Protocol (X-Axis Aggression): An analytical tracker that calculates the shortest path to your drone, always prioritizing movement along the X-axis first. Manipulate its horizontal bias to trick it into walls or traps.

  • Entropy-2 Protocol (Y-Axis Aggression): A complementary security program that hunts you down by strictly prioritizing movement along the Y-axis first. Predict its vertical pathing to outsmart its pursuit.

  • Trojan Protocol (The Spreader): A highly dangerous entity that moves one cell at a time, leaving a permanent trail of Toxic stun tiles in its wake. Left unchecked, the Trojan will slowly choke the network, completely paralyzing your movement options.

DUAL VISUAL PROTOCOLS (THEME SWAPPING)

Tailor your hacking environment to your preference. Firewall Maze features a complete, built-in theme-switching module allowing you to toggle instantly between two entirely distinct visual realities:

Minimalist Cyber-Grid Style: A clean, ultra-focused, high-contrast aesthetic featuring sharp cyan and neon-green wireframes. Perfect for deep concentration and calculated problem-solving.

Entropy Core Style: A chaotic, corrupted environment dominated by fracturing red data rifts, burning code, leaking acid, and heavy glitch art. Ideal for players looking for an intense, unstable tactical atmosphere.

RECODE REALITY: LEVEL EDITOR & STEAM WORKSHOP

When the built-in campaigns are fully breached, the real infiltration begins. Take control of the system architecture with a fully-integrated Level Editor built entirely from the ground up with full controller and gamepad optimization.

Radial Menu Control: Seamlessly swap between network assets, walls, threats, and logical triggers using an intuitive analog wheel.

Dynamic Grid Scaling: Adjust your sandbox dimension from compact tactical trials to massive, multi-layered mazes instantly.

Automated Network Validation: An intelligent security checklist automatically verifies your creation in real-time. It ensures player spawn points are defined, keys are reachable, and a valid path to the exit exists before publishing.

Steam Workshop Integration: Publish your custom subnets directly to the Steam Workshop with a single click, or download thousands of community-crafted challenges for near-infinite replayability.

EXPANDED LOOKS & PERMANENT SKINS

Personalize your hacking rig via the modernized Skin Selector. Browse a floating modular array of high-fidelity 3D asset previews to customize your floor panels, teleport animations, and player model skins. Collect and deploy unique visual overrides to make the grid truly yours.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Generative AI tools (including Tripo3D and Meshy) were used during development to generate base 3D models for characters and environment assets, which were then manually adjusted and refined. AI tools were also used to create ambient background textures for marketing materials and Steam capsule illustrations. No live-generated AI content is used during runtime.
