Clairval is an online, real-time multiplayer social deduction and strategy game that translates the psychological intensity of traditional werewolf games into a modern, competitive, and deeply community-driven digital arena.

Plunge into the heart of a remote late-medieval village, a dark era ruled by paranoia, where every whisper can lead to the pyre, and the shadows of the forest conceal terrifying secrets. Every night, the Werewolf pack and sinister solo entities strike from the dark. Every day, the village gathers to debate, bluff, accuse, and vote to execute the suspected culprits. Will you be an innocent villager desperately seeking the truth, a predator devouring the community from within, or a cynical opportunist playing only for your own survival?

Matches typically last 5 to 15 minutes. Clairval is best enjoyed with active text chat or voice chat alongside your table.

A deep, unique, and evolving role guide

Explore a roster of over 30 unique secret roles, divided into interconnected factions, thematic expansions, and historical cycles. Each role features exclusive mechanics that redefine classic deduction:

The Village : From the humble Ordinary Villager to elite investigation roles. Become the Sworn Surgeon to perform crucial autopsies on even nights, or the Old Hound to track down liars. Wield the power of faith with the Guardian and the Three Nuns, or manipulate the political fate of the table as the Cursed Prince (double vote) or the Troubadour.

The Pack : Coordinate your kills through a secret channel and orchestrate Clairval’s demise. Use the Abject Lycan Father to corrupt the innocent and turn them into your disciples, or invoke the Evil Eye to peer into the shadows and reveal the exact identity of your targets.

The Solo : Unleash chaos for your own gain. Summon Lilith to bewitch and slaughter players in waves, convert the entire table into fanatical followers with the Solar Guru, or tie your fate to another player with the Knave of Hearts, whose invulnerability relies entirely on the survival of their soulmate.

Additional game modes include standard compositions, special setups, and the Destruction mode with alternate role sets.

A persistent social ecosystem

The Tavern : Much more than a matchmaking lobby. It is a warm, dynamic, and multilingual social hub where you can chat, forge strategic alliances, debrief past games, and meet your next teammates.

The Boroughs (Guild system) — Found your own community or join an existing one. Customize your Borough’s identity with a unique name, acronym, and heraldic banner. Manage an internal hierarchy of roles and use a dedicated text chat channel to coordinate your game nights and tournament strategies.

Progression & pixel art customization

Earn experience with every match, complete engaging daily or weekly quests, and level up your Seasonal Pass to unlock unique cosmetics. Accumulate Aurels (in-game currency) in the Shop to craft your visual identity:

• Advanced paperdoll system : Create a one-of-a-kind pixel art avatar with over 120,000 combinations of medieval clothing, hairstyles, armor, and accessories

Built for content creators & streamers

Clairval features a native Stream View interface designed specifically for live broadcasting. Streamers can easily configure custom OBS overlays and isolate their discussion channels (wolf chat, dead chat) to engage their audience without ever revealing their secret role or hidden information on stream.

Absolute game integrity

Because a deduction game must be perfectly fair, Clairval relies on a robust architecture where 100% of the game logic is calculated and validated server-side. Guarded by our proprietary anti-cheat system (Sentry) and supported by active moderation, the game guarantees a healthy, respectful environment free of cheaters. No pay-to-win mechanics exist in matches — victory comes from deduction, bluffing, and social reading, not your wallet.

Optional AI bot players can be enabled by the host in private lobbies for training or filling empty seats at game start; a human joining may replace a bot.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Clairval uses AI in the following limited ways:

1) Optional AI bot players: When a game host enables "Allow AI players", the server may fill empty seats with computer-controlled bot accounts at game start. These bots follow scripted server-side game logic (votes, night actions, chat). They are not powered by generative AI or large language models, and they do not learn from player conversations.

2) AI-generated visual assets (optional): Some provisional role card illustrations (placeholder JPG artwork) were created with AI-assisted tools during development. Final redrafted role cards (PNG) are human-made and always shown. Players can disable display of AI-generated placeholder art at any time in Account Settings → "Display AI-generated content?" (default: hidden until the player opts in).

Clairval does not use generative AI to create in-match dialogue, role assignments, game outcomes, moderation decisions, or real-time gameplay content. All core game rules and results are determined by the game server.
