What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Placefall is a first-person psychological horror game that aims to offer a different location, atmosphere, and threat in each chapter. We want to share the core gameplay structure and atmosphere with players earlier in development and gather feedback.

During Early Access, player feedback on the horror atmosphere, puzzles, enemy behavior, chapter pacing, performance, and overall gameplay feel will be very important to us. We plan to use this feedback to make the game more balanced, scarier, and stronger as an overall experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan for Placefall to remain in Early Access for approximately 8 to 12 months. However, this timeframe may change depending on the development process, player feedback, and the status of planned content.

Our goal is not to rush the game, but to use player feedback to reach a more complete and higher-quality version.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version, we plan to add more chapters, different locations, new enemies, new puzzles, more story details, improved sound design, visual improvements, and performance optimizations.

The Early Access version will present the core atmosphere and main gameplay structure of the game. The full version is intended to become a larger, more polished, and more complete horror experience.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version will be a playable build that presents the core gameplay structure of Placefall. Players will be able to experience exploration, atmospheric horror, puzzle solving, escaping or hiding from enemies, and progression through different locations.

The current version will include playable content, basic enemy encounters, story fragments, and atmospheric horror sequences. However, the game is still in development. Some content may be missing, balance changes may be made, and technical issues may be present.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to offer Placefall at a lower starting price during Early Access. As new chapters, new enemies, new puzzles, and more content are added, a gradual price increase may be considered.

Any price changes will be determined based on the amount of content and the progress of development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to follow player feedback through the Steam community page, comments, discussions, and update announcements.

Feedback about chapter design, puzzle clarity, enemy balance, horror atmosphere, performance, and bug reports will be considered during development. Our goal is to turn Placefall into a stronger and more impactful horror experience together with the players.”

About This Game

Placefall

Placefall is a first-person psychological horror game. The player follows the trail of his missing sister and finds himself in distorted places outside the normal world.

The game is divided into different chapters. Each chapter features a different location, atmosphere, and threat.

To progress, you must explore your surroundings, follow clues, collect items, and solve puzzles. Sometimes running is the best option, sometimes hiding is necessary, and sometimes staying quiet is the most important way to survive.

Sound and Enemies

In Placefall, some creatures do not only react to what they see. They can also respond to the sounds you make. Running, moving carelessly, or making noise can reveal your location.

Not every enemy behaves the same way. In different chapters, you will face different creatures, different dangers, and different ways to survive.

Inventory and Puzzles

The player can collect keys, notes, puzzle pieces, and various items. To open certain doors, activate systems, or progress to new areas, you will need to use the right item in the right place.

Puzzles are based on examining environmental details and carefully following clues.
