About This Demo

Kotoha's Sealed Sword: Hiragana Deckbuilding is a language learning game at its core. However, our small team decided to make the learning process more enjoyable, therefore we decided to develop this as a deckbuilder.


Kotoha is our main character, our adorable heroine. She is on a mission to find the secret of her grandfather's sealed sword. And she needs your help with that!

The game offers both a learning experience and cute, fun gameplay with some strategy!

  • Discover new creatures and places.

  • Unlock new words and craft them with your Japanese knowledge! 

  • Some crafted words can be turned in cards that you can use in battle. Each one has a unique effect.

  • Unlock the House area and discover its secrets.

  • View your progress and vocabulary in your house.

The demo contains content for Row A of the Hiragana alphabet, a hub area where you can see your progress, the words unlocked and view Hiragana chart and around 15-20 minutes of gameplay.

The full game will feature all Hiragana alphabet.
