About This Game

Forest Lookout is a first-person horror game WITH 0 JUMPSCARES! The main goal of this game is to evoke fear and suspense in players through the game's atmosphere. The game takes place in a Lookout tower in a vast forest where a lost hiker is talking to you and your goal is to lead them with your choices to safety. You can walk freely in your tower and in the forest as well. The hiker is telling the player where he currently is and the player needs to navigate them through the forest using a map located in the tower. In the tower the player has an option to "respond" to the hiker using the microphone. When deciding how to answer players will have to choose between avaible options of dialog. After choosing an option the hiker will follow your command. This cycle continues until the hiker manages to reach your tower. The hiker then dissapears and your job is to go find them. This is where you have to leave the tower and go look for him in the forest. You will have to rely on clues left by the hiker in the enviroment while defending yourself from a monster that roams the forest. You will have to find out a way of how to defend yourself on your own.

The Story

It is your first day on your new job as a Forest Ranger. In the first part you go through the introduction. You will learn some background of your character and what your job will consist of. The second part of the game takes place in your tower, where you give instructions to a hiker and tell them where they need to go. And the third part takes place in the forest - outside of your tower - where a monster is on the loose and you will have to make your way to the hiker while defending yourself from the monster.

The Intro

This part takes place during the day and will teach you all the necessary game mechanics with some cutscenes and story telling. After reaching the top of your tower, the game begins.

Guiding lost hiker

This part takes place in your Tower. Every time the hiker reaches a crossroads or won't know what to do, they are going to call you. You will be given some options for how to respond to the Hiker. You will only have the infromation that the hiker gives you and a map at your disposal.

Looking for the Hiker

This part takes place outside of your tower and is where you can move around freely. You will have to rely on your instinct and clues found in the enviroment. The forest is huge and a monster is roaming this place as well. You will have to defend yourself from the monster. How? You will have to find out on your own

LMB - Interact with objects

RMB - Stop interacting with objects

The game is linear and has only one ending.

The game is about an hour long.
