ThouSandSand is a SameGame-style puzzle played on a board of 1,024 sand-colored tiles (32×32). Tap two or more connected tiles of the same color to clear them, and the tiles above tumble down like real sand, settling into a new shape. It's not about spectacle — it's about the quiet pleasure of watching sand find its place again.

A board that crumbles like sand

Clear a group and the tiles above don't just fall straight down — they slide along the slope and settle back into a dune-like shape.



Every few moves, a fresh batch of sand pours in from the top and the board comes back to life. Pile too high past the ceiling, and that's where the run ends.

Chains, and a quiet balancing act

For a brief moment after a clear, the board wobbles and waits. Clear the same color again during that window and you start a chain — each link raises your score multiplier.



But the wait gets shorter the longer the chain runs, and the wobble grows stronger with it. How far you push it is the quiet tension at the heart of the game. Every so often, a special tile appears — clear it, and for a short while you can chain any color at all.

A landscape that changes with time and season

Four layers of dunes drift slowly behind the board, and their mood shifts with the clock and the calendar.



At night the moon rises; in winter, snow falls.



In spring, cherry blossoms drift by, and around mid-August a meteor shower streaks across the night sky. The same board looks a little different depending on when you visit.

Poke the board, shake it, tease the little characters resting beside it — behind these small, ordinary actions are 33 hidden easter eggs.
