Coming Soon To Early Access

The developers of this game intend to release as a work in progress, developing with the feedback of players.

Note: Games in Early Access are not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development. Learn more

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The main reason we're releasing Play and Learn: English in
Early Access is to develop the game openly with community
feedback. Language learning is deeply personal — a word order
that works for one player can feel dull to another. Through
Early Access we plan to observe which conversations, quiz
formats, and rooms real players enjoy, then shape content
accordingly.

The core systems (microphone-based speech recognition, Jack Ma
motivation rooms, Word Room vocabulary system) are already built
and working. During Early Access we plan to enrich these systems
with feedback from players.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to stay in Early Access for approximately 8-12 months.
This timeline may shift depending on the desired content scope
and the direction the community takes. Rather than rushing
out an incomplete game, we aim to ship a polished, refined
full version shaped by player feedback.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the full version we plan the following additions:

• More themed rooms (bathroom, garage, market, office, etc.),
each with roughly 20-30 new words
• Expanding the starting pool of 500+ words to 1500+ words
• New motivational talks (in addition to the current 5, we plan
to add 10+ more talks)
• Broader multi-language subtitle coverage (currently Turkish
and English are prioritized; we plan to add subtitles for
the other supported languages)
• Sentence-based quiz battles and scene-based conversation tests
• New content in topics most requested by the community

This is our current roadmap; priorities may shift based on
player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version offers the following fully
working features:

• Microphone-based speech recognition (Vosk — fully offline)
• Native English voice acting (Piper TTS, 4 distinct voices)
• 500+ word A1-A2 learning pool
• 5 motivational talks (2000+ sentences, with subtitles)
• Word Room system (approach objects, touch, learn)
• Room Tester quiz system (room-based vocabulary testing)
• Random teacher encounters
• Smart card system — learned words appear green in sentences
• Store page and menu support in 9 languages
• 20+ hours of gameplay content

Areas still under development or being expanded:

• Content expansion for some rooms
• Turkish subtitle translation for some conversations
• Subtitle completion for other languages
• Visual and UI polish”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually increase the price alongside new content
and features added during Early Access. Players who join during
Early Access will get the most favorable price and receive all
updates for free. A modest price increase is planned for the
full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is the central engine driving this game's
development. We plan to maintain active communication with
players through the following channels:

• Regular update notes and feedback discussions on the Steam
Community Hub
• A Discord server (link on the store page) — for real-time
communication, player requests and suggestions, beta-test
call-outs
• Monthly roadmap updates — transparently sharing what content
is on the way
• Player-driven content selection — topics most requested on
Discord and the forums get prioritized
• Structured feedback forms for bug reports and feature requests

Our goal is for players to feel they truly took part in this
game's growth.”

About This Game

TO ESCAPE THE POLAR COLD, YOU MUST SPEAK ENGLISH :)

You wake up in a frozen world. Your only heat source: language. If you don't speak, you freeze. Every correct sentence is a step, every new word a degree of warmth.

FIRST WE GET YOU SPEAKING, THEN WE IMPROVE

Learning English doesn't require memorizing hundreds of thousands of words. As Jack Ma says: just 1000 words are enough for daily life. Play and Learn: English does exactly this — gets you speaking first, the rest follows naturally.

LEARN WHILE PLAYING

Live inside a story: walk room by room, touch objects, hear their names, learn their meanings. Go to the shop, buy items, say the price. Have conversations, complete quests — all in English.

Not flashcards — a world.

YOUR MICROPHONE IS THE CONTROLLER

Not the keyboard — your voice is your gamepad. Built-in speech recognition (Vosk) listens to what you say, scores your pronunciation. Correctly spoken words turn green — over time you'll be motivated just to see the screen turn green.

JACK MA MOTIVATION ROOMS

Tired or asking "can I really do this?": come to the in-game motivation rooms. Listen to 5 Jack Ma motivational talks with subtitles — both your ears and your heart will gain English.

SMART CARD SYSTEM

When you approach any object: the word, its icon, and its pronunciation appear. Say "I got it" — it's added to your notebook. In future sentences you'll see that word in green. Progress is visible and tangible.

ROOM TESTER QUIZ SYSTEM

How many words do you know in a room? Compete with a teacher in a quiz battle: correct answer +2 gold, wrong answer -10 HP. With a joker (MP) you can reveal the English word and guess from translations.

RANDOM TEACHER ENCOUNTERS

Walking down the road, surprise! Random teachers appear for a quick quiz — testing the retention of words you know. Even when caught unprepared, each test reinforces a word. Right answer earns gold, wrong answer costs 2 gold — but next time you get another chance.
