What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Why Early Access?

Planet Terminus is a co-op tactical shooter built around planning, pressure, and extraction. The core game is already playable: players can form a squad, deploy into hostile zones, loot, fight or move quietly, revive teammates, and extract together.

Early Access gives us the chance to test that experience with real squads outside our small private playtest group. Co-op games live or die by how they feel with different player styles, communication levels, hardware, internet connections, and squad sizes. Community feedback will directly help shape mission pacing, enemy behavior, stealth and combat balance, loot, map flow, progression, and overall stability.

Rather than build everything in isolation and only discover problems at launch, we want players involved while the foundation is solid and while their feedback can still meaningfully influence the game.

Planet Terminus is being developed carefully by a small team, with the goal of growing it into a stable, replayable co-op experience—not rushing features simply to claim they exist.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Planet Terminus to remain in Early Access for approximately 18–24 months.

That timeframe may change as development and player feedback reveal what needs more work, but the goal is not to remain in Early Access indefinitely.

During this period, development will focus on expanding the playable co-op experience while strengthening the foundation: more mission spaces, enemy and AI variety, equipment, progression, tactical systems, performance, networking stability, balance, and quality-of-life improvements.

Planet Terminus is an independent project, so the schedule is intentionally cautious. We would rather take the time needed to make co-op feel stable, tense, and replayable than rush toward a version that is technically “finished” but not ready for regular squads to enjoy.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Planet Terminus is planned to offer a broader and more complete co-op experience built on the systems available in Early Access.

Early Access will focus on the core tactical loop: preparing a loadout, deploying with a squad, navigating hostile areas, looting, fighting or moving quietly, surviving escalating pressure, and extracting together.

As development continues, we plan to expand that foundation with additional mission spaces and map areas, more enemy behaviors and encounter variety, further equipment and tactical options, deeper progression and safehouse systems, more replayability, and continued improvements to balance, performance, networking, accessibility, and quality of life.

The goal is for the full version to feel like a complete, stable co-op tactical game with more reasons for squads to return—not simply the Early Access version with extra content added on top.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At the start of Early Access, Planet Terminus will offer a focused but playable co-op tactical experience rather than a feature-complete game.

Players will be able to form a squad, deploy into the current playable mission area, explore and loot, use loud or quiet approaches, face AI-driven combat encounters, revive teammates, manage basic equipment and supplies, and extract together. The current build also includes the foundations for online co-op, enemy behaviors, stealth and detection, weapons, inventory interactions, and tactical tools.

The game is still actively being developed. Content variety, map coverage, progression, balance, AI behavior, networking edge cases, performance, interface polish, and quality-of-life features will continue to evolve throughout Early Access.

Players should expect a solid core loop with rough edges, limited content compared with the intended full version, and occasional bugs or unfinished elements. Feedback from Early Access players will help determine where the game needs the most attention.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to offer Planet Terminus at a lower price during Early Access and gradually raise the price as substantial new content, features, and overall scope are added.

Players who purchase during Early Access will receive all future updates to the game without needing to buy it again.

The exact timing and size of any price changes will depend on the pace of development and the amount of new content added.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to involve the community through Steam Discussions, Discord, playtests, development updates, and direct feedback from players.

Early Access feedback will be especially valuable for co-op balance, mission pacing, enemy behavior, stealth and combat systems, map flow, performance, networking, usability, and identifying bugs or frustrating moments that are difficult to find with a small private test group.

We will share progress, explain upcoming priorities where possible, and use player feedback to help guide development decisions. Not every suggestion can be added, but clear and recurring feedback will be taken seriously—especially when it improves the moment-to-moment co-op experience.

The goal is to build Planet Terminus alongside a community of players who enjoy tactical co-op games and want to help shape it into a stronger, more replayable experience.”

About This Game

Planet Terminus is a top-down tactical co-op raid shooter focused on deliberate combat, squad coordination, and atmospheric close-quarters encounters.

Enter hostile industrial zones alone or with your squad. Move carefully through dark buildings, abandoned rail yards, and contested facilities where enemy patrols communicate, investigate sounds, open doors, hold angles, and react dynamically to combat.

Choose your approach.

Move quietly with suppressed weapons, lasers, flashlights, and night vision — or fight loudly through coordinated firefights, grenades, and tactical pushes under pressure.

Every raid is built around tension, positioning, communication, and survival.
