Why Early Access?

“The RIGHT Fantasy is a platform-scale project: a deterministic game engine (Engine A), a SillyTavern-compatible layer (Engine B), official showcase cartridges, and creator tools for players who do not write code. We need real players on real hardware to validate local LLM playability, cartridge stability, and ST compatibility edge cases—areas that are hard to cover with internal testing alone. Early Access lets us ship a playable core now and improve performance, localization, creator workflows, and content depth together with the community, rather than finishing everything behind closed doors.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Early Access to last approximately 12–24 months. The actual duration will depend on community feedback, localization progress, Engine B compatibility work, and how quickly we can iterate on official cartridges and creator tools. If we find that more time is needed to polish the core experience, the Early Access period may be adjusted accordingly.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access build already offers playable official cartridges, Engine B import-and-play, and a foundation for Creator Mode. We plan to keep expanding in these directions during and after Early Access (priorities may shift based on feedback):

Content & cartridges: Deepen official showcase experiences in TRPG and character-driven Galgame/BE-REAL-style play, with richer scenarios, quests, and character evolution systems.
Engine B fidelity: Continue closing the gap with native SillyTavern behavior (presets, themes, scripts, and advanced character-card features).
Creator Mode: Make the “natural language → playable cartridge” workflow smoother, and improve playtest, export, and collaboration tools.
Local LLM experience: Improve default profiles, performance, and narrative stability across GPU tiers, and strengthen offline play.
Presentation & usability: Refine UI/HUD, presentation slots, localization, and onboarding for new players.
Community ecosystem: Lay groundwork for player-created content, sharing, and fork/collaboration-style workflows (exact formats are still being designed).
These are goals we are working toward—not a fixed checklist with guaranteed delivery dates.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current build is installable and playable, best suited for players who want to help test and can tolerate features that are still being refined. At this stage it includes:

Engine A: Official showcase cartridges (including TRPG-style and character-driven experiences) with working starts, saves, and turn progression. Rules and state are handled deterministically by the engine; narration is driven by local and/or external LLMs.
Engine B: Import-and-play for SillyTavern-style character cards and presets in compatibility mode. Some advanced scripts and edge-case behaviors are still being aligned.
Creator Mode: An MVP for cartridge creation and ST card wizards, with playtest and export support; advanced workflows are still expanding.
Local LLM: Bundled local model support plus optional external API keys, with first-run hardware checks and model setup guidance.
Platform: Windows desktop build (Electron) with in-app diagnostics and log export for bug reports.
Known limitations: Localization (especially English polish) is still in progress; Engine B may not fully handle every complex card or script; some official content and UI polish is not yet final. We rely heavily on community feedback to set priorities.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“English:

We plan to keep the base game free both during and after Early Access. Optional add-ons—such as local model packs or other premium DLC—may be priced or adjusted over time as content scope and maintenance costs evolve. We plan to honor entitlements for DLC purchased during Early Access. We are not committing to a specific currency or price increase here; regional pricing will be shown on Steam as applicable.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to involve the community throughout development in several ways:

Steam Discussions and reviews for feature requests, compatibility reports, and content direction.
In-app diagnostics so players can export logs and help us reproduce LLM, import, and save-related issues.
Focused feedback areas such as Engine B compatibility with specific card types, local LLM performance on different GPUs, Creator Mode workflow pain points, and official cartridge story/rules feel.
Transparent update notes describing fixes, known issues, and planned next steps—without hard release-date promises.
Community creation (exploratory): We plan to gradually open better ways to share cartridges, presets, and creator outputs once the underlying tooling is stable enough for wider use.
